In My Car, What Should I Always Carry?

The following article will tell you what are the top ten things you should always have in your car. Having your own car comes with a lot of responsibilities if you have just switched from renting vehicles for travel to finally having your own. Many people who purchase a new car do not realize that it is their vehicle and that they have to take care of it as well as their family members.

Most new car owners learn things when they get into trouble and begin planning a list after they have been through a few. For example, having a flashlight might seem like a common tool to have, but surveys from car accessories shops show that people buy essential kinds of stuff for their car for months. As a result, when they were asked to purchase those things when purchasing their new car, they did not.

Whether you are about to buy your first car or are a regular driver, this article will definitely save you time to keep all the things sorted. This will ensure that you don't mess up when any unpleasant situation occurs while you are driving.

The list of things you should have in your Car at all times is listed below in detail:

1. Legal Documents

An RC (Registration Document), a driving license, and proof of your personal identification should always be carried in your car. Most people make the mistake of not carrying these documents.

In order to reduce crime and theft, your Registration Certificate serves as proof that the vehicle you own belongs to you. It serves as a way to verify if the car you are driving belongs to you. It is common for the police or traffic police to stop you in the middle of the road to check if your car is yours, so there you are with your Registration Certificate.

A driving license is a document that shows that you know how to drive a two-wheeler or a four-wheeler and that you understand the rules and regulations that are followed by your state or country. It is issued by the Road and Transport authority body of your state or country.

2. Spare Tire

Spare tires are like having savings in your bank account when you are broke or lost your job when you are in trouble. Imagine that you are traveling to the outermost reaches of your city and your tires got flat, or there was a major puncture in your tire's tubes, and because you are outside the city, there was no mechanic or vendor who could replace your tires, a total pain!  Spare tires must be kept in your car so you can avoid this situation.

3. Car Jack

It is important to have a car jack when replacing your car’s tire. The car jack is a tool that is placed under the car near the flattened tire and then the jack lifts the car slightly from the floor so that the flattened tire does not touch the floor and can be easily replaced.

4. Multipurpose Toolkit for Car

It is very helpful to have a multipurpose car toolkit when you need to replace your car's tires. In this toolkit, you'll find a car wrench, screwdrivers, and other essential tools to fix minor problems. You can use the "car wrench" to unscrew tires when you need to replace them, which is obviously very helpful.

5. Flashlight or Torch

Who knows when your car's engine suddenly gets stuck somewhere and your smartphone's battery is about to die, having a torch in your car is important. To check what's wrong with your engine in the dark or to search for something inside the car during the night, you must have a flashlight in your car.

6. Car chargers and Cables

The chargers and cables you need for your phone, power bank, and laptop should be purchased in advance. Let's say you left home early one day and it's been a long day after work, which means your mobile phone's and other electronic devices' charge will be low. If you have to travel long distances to get back home, having your car charger and cables to charge your smartphone and power bank becomes extremely important.

7. Water and Food

People are concerned about these things when they own a car, and they are often underrated. You might wonder why I always carry food and water bottles with me. I can find food and water anywhere! Let us understand why.

Imagine that you traveled somewhere near your town due to an emergency or just for a long drive! When you are on vacation, you find that no store is open at your destination. When you are returning and it's a long way to travel and you have your family members with you, such as a child, spouse or parents? Would you keep them hungry and thirsty until you are driving? No! Right?

See the point is humans can live without food for more than 2 days but why do you want to take the risk? You might be a diabetic patient who needs to have food in the proper schedule or your son is hungry and needs food, would you head towards finding a restaurant or grocery store in the middle of traveling while you drive? So carrying dry food that can be sustained for a long time, such as dried fruits, packed cakes, chips, and biscuits can save your day.

I think it is most important to carry a few liters of water in your car. It is ideal to keep 2 to 3 liters of water in your car at all times because humans cannot remain thirsty for more than 24 hours. I hope you never encounter such a situation, so please keep food and water in your car.

8. First-Aid kit

You should always have a first-aid kit in your car, and readers, please consider this an expense because it might save someone's life someday, or at least help them until they can reach the nearest hospital.

Think about a few situations, let's say your child got into a fight after school and you found him bleeding through his nose (this is a pretty unusual occurrence :p), but let's say you found someone who was struck by a car and has some minor bleeding. As you must take the victim to the hospital, you will be able to provide first aid until he or she reaches the hospital, right? If you just became a hero by reading this article, you need a first aid kit to protect yourself.

9. Bottle of fuel

In an emergency, having an extra 1 liter or 2 liters of petrol or diesel can make all the difference. This is because you might not be able to find a gas station or petrol pump nearby. It's true that there are several gas stations and petrol pumps nowadays, but why are you waiting for the unthinkable to happen?

10. A Map

It might make you feel weird while reading this tip, ohh! Let's go! In today's world, who keeps a map of their city? Do you belong to the 19th century? Haha... I get your point, but you must accept that your smartphone or car uses a technology called GPS, and there are few places where you won't find GPS signals, so you should always keep a map of the city or the place you're going.
