SIMON BERGER, the artist from Switzerland born in 1976 and started his art work by breaking glass with a hammer in 2017 and this technique of art have made him to shine out .

The torn portraits done by him which is craved in glass,bring the goggle into the complexity of transparent sufferings that he calls  MORPHOGENESIS!.

His unique artistry language express the deepness of his material through striking and cracking the glass and he works on with a hammer. 

The framed sheet of glass act as the positive platform for  his artwork ,as well as the picture of his artistic handwriting, which are done with transparency of the material.

The closer and perfecting the blows, the stronger the contrasts and the shades.In his point of view , the hammer is not a tool of demolishing, however it's icon of escalation of effects. 

This is a process of discovery from unworthy scribblings to figurative perception.

His glass portraits make understanding about rigidity between strength and fragility through its decoration as well as his handling of the glass.

The female portraits donates a strong expressions which is probing the viewers.

When we deep go through the artworks , these charming images break up  into an small cracks and rough -edged piece of glass .

The light that touch the glass is reflected by the fragments and cracks within the glass, making the artworks surface shine and sparkle depending on the intensity ,it looks as if the portrait itself were dazzling.

Through destruction ,Simon Berger make beauty to expose.

He starts a work with a photo of a model. He then sketches it's outlines on a framed sheet of glass. From there he marks the spots he doesn't want to break and the one wants to modify a little. He really hit it with  a lot of force , the whole glass get cracks completely  which turns like a spider web …

Once the glass was completely collapsed,  it ease for working but in precise manner.The process is similar to a pencil drawing on a white canvas.Simon have attracted his fans,  by undergone many projects and  stole all the hearts.

In march 2021 , Simon Berger created a portrait of KAMALA HARIS,the vice president of the United States.

The breaking art can't fail, that express the true depth of the art and art is one of the way to express the emotions we have..
