Taj Mahal, palaces of Jaipur and history of Delhi intrigues every Indian since childhood. I got the chance to visit these places in February 2020, just before the country was hit by COVID-19. It was a five days four nights trip. I was staying in Hyderabad then due to my job. We had a early morning flight from Hyderabad to Delhi. We reached Delhi by 11:30 and were starving. So we had our breakfast at a roadside food stall and it was amazing at that price. If you ever visit Delhi , we suggest you please try the roadside foods. It is delicious and you get it at super affordable price. Then we checked onto the hotel that we booked through Oyo. It was charging 1200 rupees per day, which was expensive compare to the quality of the room and the services they provide. So if you are visiting Delhi during off season, you can just go into any good hotel and you will get rooms easily at a cheaper price. We went to Connaught Place for having lunch and clicked some awesome pictures. At Connaught Place you get to choose from plethora of restaurants. We had Biriyani and it was flavoursome. My boyfriend is a lover of desserts and to our coincidence while starting for our next destination we found an old man selling various kinds of sweet. So we bought Rabri and Gulab Jamun (a Indian dessert). It was divine and we got it in super affordable price. Our next destination was Sarojini Market. It was famous for its diverse collections of clothes to everything a girl can dream off at a nominal price. So it is a paradise for anyone on tight budget. Next we went to Chandni Chowk, this place will be worth a visit if you have any wedding coming up in near future. From there we went to Paranthe Wali Gali for having dinner. In my opinion this place is more hyped up in the internet world than it actually had been. This place has nothing special, very normal food and it was overpriced. That is how we wrapped up our day one in Delhi. Next day was planned for visiting all the prominent places of Delhi.
We were out for our day tour by 8 in the morning. We chose to travel by the local city commute like metro, bus etc. rather than booking any car. Again we had a roadside breakfast. This time it was Alu Parantha at rupees 20 per plate near Qutab Minar, which was our 1st destination of the day. We stayed there around 45 minutes and clicked a bunch of picture in the golden glow of sun. Next destination was Lotus temple. The place was bit busy. The praying area inside the temple was pleasant. From there we went to Red Fort by metro. Red Fort will set your eye to a mesmerizing view of architecture , art and designs. Jamma Masjid is very close from Red Fort, so you can have quick visit. Our next stop was Raj Ghat. This place marks the spot of Mahatma Gandhi's cremation. You can enjoy the garden if you are not a History enthusiast. Then we had our lunch at a local shop near Raj Ghat. From there we went to the Parliament House. You are not allowed to enter any administrative blocks inside it , but you can click photos from outside. We did not spent much time here as the day was about to end and we had two more places in our list. Our next stop was Agrasen Ki Baoli. This location was used in various Bollywood movies. So we also clicked a handful of pictures. Our last spot for the day was India Gate. From here we watched a enthralling sunset of Delhi.
Thanks for reading. Please give it a thumps up if you like it. Next destination was Agra, I will publish it in the upcoming blogs. Until then stay safe be Healthy!
