We've been around the words “self love” and “love yourself more” in the social media platforms lately. So, what is "self love"? I got you.
We have all experienced body shaming, skin shaming and some other types of shaming at least once in our lives. There are so many people around us who we feel like they exist only to shame us on whatever we do, or don't do. Who do you think they are? Those are the people who don't want to see you succeed. Those are the people who can't take your well-being. You can be offended or annoyed by the comments they throw on you. But, even getting offended or annoyed consumes time right? Do you really want to spend your “precious” time to things like this? I don't think so. YOU have a goal. YOU are working on it. YOU are working hard. YOU will enjoy the success someday. Then why let others (opinions) influence YOU?
You can't just do skincare and haircare and call it “self love”. Skincare and haircare is “self care". But what is “self love”? Loving YOU for being YOU. When they say “is acne such a problem?, is being fat even depressing?”, take them. Take them personally. Take them for good. Tell yourself “acne isn't a thread.” “I am beautiful.” “I love myself.” Wearing makeup and doing things that hide the “real you” can be satisfying. What's the point then? How many more people do you want to tell you that “you're beautiful the way you are”? Trust the statement. Trust yourself. Trust the affirmations. You are beautiful with acne, with that little tummy fat, with/without makeup, being skinny/short/ tall, you are beautiful being black/white/brown. God, YOU are beautifulllll!! (Extra L's to sound kind ;)
Coming to the end of “self love” talks, here's what Priyanka tells you to do to build up your “self love”. Practice your mind to take positive affirmations. Talk to your loved ones Spend some alone time when you feel down. Reading, exercising, and short walks are some positive ways to influence self love. Do what you want to, or feel like doing. You want a nap? Take it. You want a snack? Eat it. Like, what are cheat days if it isn't for us? Lol. After all, it is YOU who matters :)
