Introduction: 

Hello all, today I am going to share with you one of the famous Tamil movie – Ponniyin Selvan. The movie was released in mid-2022. It has been created by one of the veteran Tamil movie director Manirathnam. On the other hand, A.R. Rahman composed music for this movie. So it has given a visual and audio treat to the overall audience. Specifically, this time the overall Tamilnadu people were being waited for a black buster hit movie from the Tamil cinema industry. Because in this period of time, our brother states were given some pan-India movies. For instance, the KGF-2 and the RRR movies. Henceforth, we were waiting for a good movie. This movie has satisfied Tamil audience expectations.

Summary of the story: 

This movie story was taken from the famous Tamil novel “Ponniyin Selvan”, written by the late writer Kalki, this book was published almost in 1960. As it was a famous novel in south India, many famous actors try to transform this novel into a movie. But it has been possible this year only almost after 3 generations. This movie is being spoken one of the famous South Indian king “Rajaraja Cholan”, who built the famous “Big Temple” in Tanjore. The movie plot is, That Chola’s elder brother “Adithya Karikalan” killed his enemy king “Pandian”.  So the enemies killed back Karikalan and planned to snatch the overall Chola administration. The hero Rajaraja Cholan took revenge back against the enemies and protected his territory administration. 

Creative element: 

Great Indian actors were working in this movie. Aishwarya rai. She was a perfect match for the enemy queen’s character. She had shown well that vengeance reaction on her face throughout the movie. Next Vikram played Adithya Karikalan’s role, a furious prince who had a passionate love for Aishwarya rai. I am a big fan of this character among the others. Then Malluwood actor Jayaram played a lead role besides them almost 30 iconic Tamil actors played various roll in this movie.

      As famous technicians have worked on this movie, each of the aspects was immensely great like dance, costumes, lighting, editing, camera, and so on. Particularly I noticed some special features in this film, the costumes – I had never seen such costumes before in Tamil cinema. They were almost real. Moreover, original gold jewels have been used in this movie for the queen and princess. The cameraman has used the shaking technique in this movie, and even though some of them hate this I enjoyed this effect personally. The CG took us into the ancient period I love that grey effect overlay on the screen often. Dance was not usual the choreographer tried drama type of dance. So it has given good results.

      Regarding music, AR has done fantastic work. This single person has played a huge role through his music against what we saw on the screen like dialogue, dance, costumes, and so on. He has touched each screen of this movie with his musical instruments. I consider this movie like a beautiful statue, AR gave life to this statue and converted it into a real human through his music.
