5 Arab Women Travellers That Had Gone Way Too Far.
Women travelers are no exception from their male counterparts in traveling, meeting local people without social restrictions. Arab women are as eccentric about life for women beyond the MENA region.
A country with conflict, where you will see cloak and swimming dresses or mosques alongside Irish pubs, the UAE is different in its way. Even though emirates like Abu Dhabi and Dubai are considered a heaven for emigrants, the UAE remains a Muslim country, and hence women’s rights in the UAE are to follow Islamic Law. It observes a highly traditional culture, alongside the flash and charm of being an emigrant hub.
Women have equal constitutional rights as their male counterparts, but they remain vulnerable in some areas.
Despite of all the hurdles, Arab women have lived their dreams. One such being a solo traveler, wherein a study shows that about 28% of women have traveled solo in most of the country. Out of these women, two-thirds were 40 years old, and some were still younger. Based on this research, we can know that women drive a section of the tourism industry. Most of these women use social media to book tickets, accommodations, logistics, and dining.

Most often, we hear about male adventurers going trekking and taking up the physical challenges along their way. But here we find a different story of Ghida Arnaout, who is a local rock climber, that brought her to be featured in famous publications like vogue.
Although she hails from Lebanon, she was always thirsty for adventure, and now she has come a long way in representing strong Lebanese women worldwide. She underwent many challenges to be a successful rock climber.

Raha Moharrak:
Raha Moharrak is the youngest Saudi Arabian woman who climbed Mount Everest. Also, she has climbed mountains like Mount Elbrus, Kala Pattar, Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Vinson, Aconcagua, Pico de Orizaba, and Iztaccihuati.
Moharrak achievements made her become an ambassador for famous brands like Burberry and Tag Heuer, thus becoming the first Arab woman to act for a Swiss watch manufacturer. She joined the club of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bella Hadid, and Chris Hemsworth. She also has been sponsored by Adidas, which campaigned to aid women empowerment in the Middle East.

Founder of the blog “Travel Junkie Diary”, Michelle Karam first created the blog so that others can share their personal travel experience, inspiring encounters, and life-changing events. Later, due to the digital revolution, she changed the track to give tips on the way consumers shop for travel and also where the products can be purchased.
