Don't be a coward; here are India's most haunted places for those who dare to find them. 

Some phenomena, and events from beyond ordinary understanding that do not fail to intrigue and thrill us. Most of these happen for the first time and offer a glimpse into some unknown truths, but a few are spine-chilling events. The tale of the Curse of Hat Yowl is one of the most spectacular examples of India's black magic, spirits, ghosts, and unexplainable deaths that people tell about it. Even more terrifying are the stories that people have been telling of this, or are planning to tell of this for decades. 

Kuldhara - Rajasthan

 

This settlement was here until as late as 1825, and it is now abandoned, which leads people to it being referred to as the village of ghosts. No one now will be able to discover how numerous the village was; only the ruins of the former structures remain. According to a legend, the tyrannical ruler of the village wooed the village chief's daughter, and is met with harsh resistance when he attempts to collect the taxes from his subjects if they don't acquiesce. The villagers saw no other option, so they fled in fear the night. It is assumed that before they left they cursed the town, they cursed it.

Bhangarh Fort - Rajasthan

Bhangar Fort, located on the top of Bhangar Hills, is considered the most haunted in India. the fort has been closed for the day due to a crowd build-up of people. There are a number of frightening myths associated with this location. This legend is rumoured to be true in various forms, but there is one version that says that a dark magician came to the kingdom, cast a spell on the princess, and enchanted one of her beauty products. This sent the princess into a panic, and she threw the product over a large rock. As a result of its connection to the dark magic, the stone crushed the magician to death. Before dying, he was able to put a curse on the town, ensuring that it would be cursed forever. Further investigation showed that the town was considered to be haunted for quite some time after that.

Dumas Beach - Surat

A well-known Indian area on- and off- shore haunted beach in Gujarat is listed as such. Many people buried their deceased relatives at the beach, who it is now known to be a place of restless spirits. People have gone missing under odd circumstances, unusual, and suspicious circumstances in the middle of the night on numerous occasions. Other people have admitted that they have heard the sound of strange whispers while walking on the beach late at night.

Ramoji Film City - Hyderabad

It has been stated that several incidents of unexplained and paranormal activities have occurred in Ramoji Film City. Spotlights and tablecloths were dropping down from the spotlights; Food was mysteriously falling from spotlights, unexplained sexual marks appearing on mirrors, and unexplained accidents happening; A number of instances brought up in which spotlights flew off on their own and workers; Spotlights and tablecloths falling; A couple of which foodmarks on workers went unexplained; Sight Local residents believe that the location is probably served as a major battlefield during the rule of the Nizam Dynasty. Shaniwarwada Fort - Pune

Although Shaniwada Fort in India may not be as well-known as Benaras or Mandir, it is nonetheless quite haunted. There is an especially high number of reported cases of the supernatural occurring on every full moon at this fort. By some stories, he is said to have been slain in the fortress, Narayanrao lived an abnormally cruel death at the age of 13. And then his body was hacked into pieces and thrown into a river. The Hindus believe that if an individual is not accorded proper funeral rites, their spirit will remain in the spot where they died, which creates a powerful attachment of the senses of rage or impotence for the deceased. This murder provided a base of operations for several beliefs that other persons repeated. Such an occurrence gives rise to other people's ideas and beliefs that are very traumatic and terrible, such as that the prince's body was disposed and his cries of distress are still being heard within the walls of the fort.

Dow Hill - Darjeeling

Dow Hill Girls' Boarding School is said to be haunted. Many students and workers have reported hearing the sound of footsteps after the hours of operation changed. There are reports of a headless ghost wandering around the boys' high school in Dow Hill as well, because the surrounding woods are considered haunted. Conventional wisdom has it that several murders have been committed in this forest. A bright red eye is a common side effect, though many have also noted a dramatic enlargement of the pupils. Furthermore, the stories are currently circulating of a woman being sighted in the forest, who has attempted to flee on multiple occasions, and disappeared each time. The wilderness has a reputation for robbing people of their balance, and quite a few people are said to have committed suicide while looking for it.

 

Charleville Mansion - Shimla

It is said that the Charleville Mansionis haunted by a poltergeist, a troublesome spirit thought to have been born at the beginning of the castle's history. It was verified by a British soldier who was stationed there with his wife, who confirms that the rumours are genuine. He put a padlock on the room that was currently experiencing the highest levels of paranormal activity and let it sit overnight to see if anything happened. To his surprise, when he opened the door the next morning, he found nothing had changed. 

Charleville Mansion

It is a stone mansion of such quality that was built in British times. According to legend, this estate has been haunted for a long time. Victor Bayley, the assistant railway board member, was looking for a lovely residence in Shimla in 1913. Charlev Mansion was on the market at a rent that was tolerable. Victor and his wife were very pleased, and they decided to buy the house right away. But when they asked about the cause of such low rent, they dismissed it as nothing more than a spooky rumour. Even after they moved into the mansion, strange occurrences began to take place. He heard a loud commotion one night when he opened the door to investigate, and found the room in disarray. Everything in the room had been thrown over and against the wall, the furnishings had been flipped upside down, and the mirrors smashed. Once, they saw an Englishman appear and walk from one room to another in the building. The following day, Bayley and his wife made the decision to get the hell out of Dodge. It took quite a while for the mansion to clear out after that incident. For many generations, no one dared to remain in the house.
