They were friends since mid school. Used to go to same tution but he was my senior. Back then she really never thought of him like that. He was just a friend for her. They used to fight a lot, tease each other a lot, make fun of each other a lot, name calling each other a lot. It started as genuine frendship. For him may be she was more than just a friend. But he never said anything to her. She got hint of it because he asked about her to one of her close friend only and she told her everything and asked are you also have feelings for him. She never thought of him before more than a friend but after knowing she also started feeling something. She was waiting for him to say or ask but he didn't and then as the days passed she also moved on..
After school their paths never crossed.
They were in touch thanks to social media. Sending each other snaps, stories etc. She got into relationship then he also got into relationship with someone else. Life was going on.
It was the beginning of mansoon, first rain, she was on the terrace sipping hot coffee and enjoying cold splashing water on face from outside. And phone rang.
At first she didn't recognised who was on the other side from voice. And then it was him. She couldn't believed it was really him , many years pass by they never talked on phone or anything. It was surprising and unexpected. They talked for an hour. Old memories, old stories, life's tragedies, relationships and many more. She felt like never stopped talking or lost contact. She felt like yesterday they were talking outside school and now today on phone. They made a plan to meet.
It was quite a rainy day. He came to pick her up around 4 ‘O clock, she sat besides him. He just looked at her and smiled. They drove for a while then he again looked at her and asked “are you afraid of me or anything?"
She laughed and replied, “ No , why?!”
“ Why are you so quite then!!”, he asked.
She looked at him and said, “ I don't know what to say , I'm still processing this. You here, we talking like this, going out. All this is just unexpected”.
And then…
Everything stopped, people were stood like statues all around her, people in cars, men on bicycles, babies in prams all lifeless, frozen in time. She looked all over. For a moment it felt like a real. But it was a dream… sweet dream….
