Fans of Keyes should approach this book with caution, as it differs significantly from her other works. And if you're new to Marian Keyes and see the gorgeous, light-hearted cover on a bookshelf and want to read something, maybe you should start with one of her earlier works before moving on to this one. I'm hope she drops the tricks for her next novel and returns to her charming, warm, and entertaining style in the future. I'd like to thank the publishers for providing a copy for The Bookbag. Further reading recommendation: If you've never read any Marian Keyes, I'd recommend starting with one of her early pieces.Oh man I actually didn’t mind there was lack of romance I really liked the scenes where she hated her job because that’s the reality of your first real world job that it’s gonna suck regardless as far as her say screw you to the ML and quit is not realistic at all . I Think for me that is why I really enjoyed watching it because when I was getting out of college you really have to endure some jobs and work with some kind of irritating people before you get where you wanna be in life. for me I feel as if their romance was nicely developed. And I really like the ML and FL characters. But I really didn’t like her best friend being mad at her. Other than that I think what sold it for me was how fantastic the OST was cause Tao wrote ,produced and sang most of the songs for it. I also think after their Ferris wheel kiss I enjoyed how platonic they were with each other hence it makes sense to be weary of dating someone you are managing. You could really see how much they cared and protected each other. I also feel like I understand idol culture a bit more and the dark side of these huge conglomerates. But that’s just me feel free to share your thoughts!And here’s why I’m gonna rant! Look away if you don’t want spoilers, last chance.
Episode 25 and NOT ONE KISS. Wtf! Not even a almost kiss, no interrupted kiss, or ML/FL leaning in. NOTHING! I am shook!
I know CDramas can drag out story lines, but wth man. She hasn’t even established liking the ML yet. Her love interest has purely been the second ML, which ok cool, but even they didn’t get a kiss. They finally got around to confessing to each other around episode 22, but the second ML called it quits before even starting anything.
The FL whilst coming into her own, has been treated like a door mat by the ML and taken it. So many times I was like ‘Just quit already!’
There’s so many side stories and unnecessary clutter, that had they cut out some of these we’d be done in 20 episodes. I’ve been silently screaming every time a episode ends and there’s been no progress with the leads.
Anyway that’s my rant, it’s 11pm now and I’ve got work tomorrow. I will continue watching, because I’m in to far. But yeah I feel cheated by the great reviews. They lied! This drama will not go down as one of my favs or even one I’d watch again.
If you’ve watched it, please tell me it’ll be worth it to finish. Heck tell me which episode they finally kiss and if you tell me it’s like episode 40 I’m skipping right to it. I can’t sit through 15 more episodes of nothing! And suggest all to give it a try!
