Hello and good evening to everyone. Have you read any of my previous posts? If not, why are you waiting? Complete this one and visit my previous blogs, which are just as interesting as this one.
You've probably heard about honey bees and how dangerous they can be. But we have no idea how much pain it causes them. There's a story here, or you could call it “folklore.” It's an ancient Greece story.
So, shall we begin the story? Are you ready to hear an exciting story? Its a lot of fun, believe me. You will be awestruck as you read…
The honeybee's sting - A tale from ancient Greece
Zeus, the king of Mount Olympus was giving gift to the beasts, birds, and other insects one day. The little honey bee appeared before his throne, surprised, and said, “only one of the gifts you can give me will suffice.”
And which is what?, king asked.
“I would like the ability to inflict great pain whenever I choose to”, said the bee.
“What a terrible wish!” exclaimed Zeus, “but I am willing to grant it.”
I am going to give you a sharp sting. But I am sure you will use this tool wisely in times of rage and strife. You'll only get to use it once because using it would cost you your life.
And even now, after inflicting pain on others like stinging someone or something, the little honeybee dies.
There's a reason they desired it. I'll explain. Honey bees collect pollen and nectar from flowers and store them in hives, but we humans and other animals steal their honey and in the process harm them. They were tired of it all and wanted to teach them a lesson that they couldn't steal their work without getting hurt or something.
Bees sting in self-defense or to protect their colonies from predators. They do not, however, sting for no reason.
They urged for that wish to save them but it was still an evil wish to inflict sever pain on someone, and one must suffer greatly for that, as bees do.
No one has ever lived happily after causing others pain. You've heard what everyone says, right? Karma is a tyrant who will hunt you until your last breath.
Moral of the story: Evil desires will always come back to harm you.
