The Legendary Thornbird: He Only Sings Once In His Entire Life

Namaste Everyone! My previous blog was about a moth and his love for light and today I'm going to tell you about Thornbird, a legendary bird that only sings once in his entire life.

Isn't that exciting? Many questions will arise in your mind, such as why this bird sings only once in his lifeā€¦

There's a legend about a bird that sings more delicately than any other bird on the face of the earth only once in its life. It searches for a thorn tree as soon as it leaves the nest and does not stop until it finds one. Then it imprints itself on the longest, most pointed thorn, singing among the wild branches. And as it dies, it rises above its own agony to out-carol the lark and the nightingale. The price of life is one enthralling song.

According to the myth, the best can only be obtain through great pain.

Who is this peculiar creature, who would so bamboozle and captivate us with its exotic, mysterious, and transforming song?

The Thornbird pays its life for that one song, and the entire world is listening and God is smiling in heaven, because it is best brought only at the expense of great pain; driven to the thorn without realizing the arrival of the death. Yet we know when we push the thorn to our breast, we understand. And its something we're still doing.

The bird with the thorn in its breast follows an eternal rule; it is guided by it, that doesn't know whether to strangle itself and die singing. There is no knowledge of the arrival of the dying at the moment the thorn enters; it simply sings and sings until there is no life left to utter another note.

Our ancestors used to tell us these stories as bedtime stories to help us sleep, so why do we tell them to our children? Because every anecdote teaches us something and when we narrate this story to our babies, it will stay with them for the rest of their life. And they know how to deal everything.

This story teaches us to live our dreams to the fullest because when we dream, we live; otherwise our lives are meaningless. You must not only exist, but also live every moment of your life and make it actually matter to yourself and to everyone.
