I was sitting on a veranda the other day, writing text for a website. A big mug of green tea stood on a podium which is old as time. Every student in college, including myself and my best friend, who were practically inseparable, used that podium. we used to stand next to it and talk about everything, sometimes we ate our lunches on it, and he used to sing standing on that podium.
He aspired to be a great singer, but he achieved this by succumbing to societal pressures to pursue a lucrative career rather than his dreams. Society made the one thing that was not necessary important, and he eventually lost his long-held love of music and dream of becoming a singer.
The world was a much better place beside that podium inside the college. He was merely a bystander to all the false and made-up rules that never made any logical sense to him.
Pursuing what everyone else was doing to make money forced my friend abandon his dreams so easily.
His promises to his music are full of naivety and he has a genuine desire to find the right platform on which to slay.
However, dreams like this are frequently dashed by society's standards that are truly useless and baseless in and of themselves.
Years and years later, my friend had been following these illogical societal rules, but one day it struck him in the heart and he decided that it was time to break all the rules and follow my own dream to achieve enormous achievement on his own terms.
To begin his own journey towards his passion, he had to first break the chain of societal norms, which he did gracefully.
And now he is overjoyed because he is living his dream and singing and singing, and singing.
Fulfilling one's dream is difficult, but the stubborn heart does it anyway because, as the saying goes, “the universe always falls for the one who has a stubborn heart.”
If you are passionate about something, you should put in a lot of effort to make it a reality. I'm confident you'll get the results in the end. Follow your passion and make your dreams a reality.
