Hello friends!  In today's post we will find surprising information (facts about rainbow) about why rainbow appears and how it appears.

What does a rainbow look like? You will often see rainbows during high water falls and rainy seasons. The reason for this is that when it rains, the sunlight is scattered on the water droplets. That is, the three colors of sunlight, red, yellow and blue are mixed and reach the earth as a white ray.  When the sunlight is scattered on it, the color distribution occurs and appears to our eyes like a rainbow with seven colors.

Does the rainbow have an end?

Rainbows do not have an end, they are formed based on the source of light we see, so if you move from one place to another, the rainbow will appear to move with you.

The shape of the rainbow

We all think that the shape of rainbow is semi-circle but actually rainbow is semi-circle only when seen from the ground and when you look above the ground i.e. from the plane it is full circle.

Double rainbow

You may have seen a double rainbow at times because it occurs when light hits raindrops twice.  It is worth noting that these two rainbows are at two different angles.

Rainbow in the solar system

Earth is the only planet in our solar system where rainbows appear because only Earth has liquid rain and is also a planet through which sunlight can travelThis image illustrates how white light travels through a raindrop (or water droplets from another water source) and gets refracted.  Here you can see that red color shows low deviation and purple color shows high deviations

Seven colors are visible in the rainbow.  In English it is called VIBGYOR.  Red:  Orange:  Yellow:  Green:      Blue:  Dark Blue:  Purple: These are the colors.

Rainbows usually appear in the morning and evening hours.  A rainbow appears in the opposite direction to the sun.  When viewed from the sky, the rainbow appears circular

Rainbows usually appear in the morning and evening hours.  A rainbow appears in the opposite direction to the sun.  A rainbow is not actually semi-circular as it appears to our eyes.  A rainbow appears as a perfect circle.  We can only see the semicircle at the top of the atmosphere.  A rainbow can only be seen from certain angles.  That is why the rainbow that we see, people in other cities cannot see.  There are two types of rainbows.  The first type is red on the outside and purple on the inside.
