Crores of cases like Arshdeep will continue to happen daily in India due to lack of a solid legal system against fakes happening in social media from IT cell factories and WhatsApp University.
He was also dubbed Khalistani on Wikipedia after he missed a simple catch with Arshdeep Singh holding him responsible for tha India's defeat in the Asia Cup. Wikipedia has corrected the misrepresentation following a rebuke from Union IT Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar. According to preliminary investigation, it was carried out by Pakistanis in the vicinity of Islamabad, Wikipedia, which is recognized by the traditional encyclopedia, never had 100% credibility. Wikipedia has a three-layered security cover built in to ensure the credibility of the content and to keep out nuisance elements. First, fully protected pages, which cannot be changed without the permission of the operators. Second, moderately secure pages, where registered users can intervene, but many changes can be implemented only after approval. Another third page where any digital volunteer from around the world can make a difference. Even if there is an editorial dispute about the content, there may be interference from the operators. Digital volunteers keep it updated by making frequent changes to the Wikipedia content that has been running for the last 21 years. Therefore Wikipedia has become the largest source of information for over 40 million users with over 50 million pages. There have been several cases of tampering with Wikipedia's map of India, pages of Jawaharlal Nehru and Mumbai bombings convict Ajmal Kasab, despite several security covers. As the Arshdeep controversy escalated, Rajeev Chandrashekhar lashed out at Wikipedia, saying that it is the responsibility of all intermediary companies in India to make the Internet secure and reliable.
Arshdeep's page in Wikipedia is now protected after government intervention. But no action was taken on the campaign launched on many platforms of social media to make Arshdeep jealous. The government needs to be concrete on three aspects. First, Wikipedia is a US non-profit organization. Whereas companies like Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Google have become messiahs from illegal business of data of Indians. By changing the old IT rules, the government has implemented new rules in 2021, according to which content like nudity, child sexual abuse, terrorism, hate speech is not allowed in social media. To remove them, companies have to submit a monthly report, according to which in July 2022 Facebook has 25 million posts, WhatsApp has 24 lakh accounts, Instagram has 20 lakh posts, Google has 6.89 lakh objectionable content and Twitter has taken action against 45 thousand accounts. has claimed. It is clear from the report that these companies interfere with content and accounts for advertising, business and profit. It is completely wrong to give these companies the status of intermediary and exemption from legal provisions under section 79 of the IT Act. Second, the business and profits of Internet companies are based on the illegal sale of data. Despite several statements by the government and ministers, no law on data protection was enacted in the Parliament for the last 8 years.
