The film is a critique of the massive, isolated meetings that advertise 'Evangelical meetings, the Lord is calling' and the multi-crore business that goes on in them.

Ranakalam is the moment when Viju Prasad, who is an ordinary motivational speaker, transforms into 'Pastor' Joshua Carlton. He has become that character.

Having already been a Motivational Speaker (that's why he was selected for this job) this job will be easy.

You will have seen many videos on WhatsApp, where they say that the kidney problem has been cured, the eyesight has returned, the cancer tumor has disappeared, and the leg that could not walk at all can walk.

They left these, the huge business going on in it, the gambling money all hanging.

Knowing that all these are false, they go and deceive. It is a bitter truth that no matter the religion, there is a crowd to be fooled.

As long as there are cheaters, there will be cheaters.

'Pastor' Joshua Carlton
Phagat Basil, who comes as an ordinary priest, grows to a different level with the team of Gautham Menon.

Whatever the dress and make-up, Nazriya's childish face does not suit the role.

The film goes well till about three quarters and then falters not knowing where to go, especially Faqat Basil's character.

Eventually they finished somehow.

Kanyakumari is shown in the opening, happy 🙂 . Tamil speakers come naturally in many Malayalam films.

No translation, everyone seems to understand Tamil.

The music was spot on, the cinematography was good especially the speech scenes of Faqat Baasil were rendered emotionally.

Kanyakumari and Mumbai were also normal.

How did they dare to take the film Trance? No one protested? No case filed?!

There was a problem with the censors and the film was released on Tamil Rockers even a week before its release. Innocent!

A video of a small meeting like this happened recently on WhatsApp, and when I saw it, I remembered the movie Trance 🙂 .

I will always remember this movie and Faqat Basil will be remembered.
