Not paying heed to his mother’s recommendation/advice, the young Jacobin cuckoo exits to go to the lake to drink the water of the lake. The way to the lake was far and the cuckoo never travelled so much. On the way when he got tired he stood near a tree. There was a farmer's house near the tree. The young one catches his breath. He sees an old man lying on a bed coughing continuously as if he was about to die and besides there was a young man standing. They both were talking about something. Then he hears the conversation between the father and the son. 

The farmer was old and was about to die. His son who was standing near him told the farmer, “Father, today a money bag was found by me on the way to the site where I recently got a job. Thinking that my poverty will be diminished by it, I reached out my hand. But immediately I remembered your advice.’’It is not our family's ethics to take the money of others. So I left the money bag there only.”  After listening to the son’s honest talk the old man had a proud smile on his face.

The young Jacobin cuckoo hears it all. He thinks,” O! How great is the top-notch faith of the old man on his deathbed and his son to maintain the family ethics! But I am not observing our family ethics. It is our family ethics that we drink only the water from the cloud. I was about to give it up.This is not appropriate. If I only will not preserve the family ethics, how will they be preserved?” The young cuckoo got dispersed in his thoughts for some time; he thinks beasts, birds, and well- meaning human beings have been maintained there in family ethics. I will also take care of my family and its ethics. And then decided to go back to his own home rather than going to the lake.

 Thus thinking this he returns to his mother and narrates the whole account to her. Mother experienced satisfaction and blessed him. In a short time only, the clouds shower rain. The thirst of the young Jacobin cuckoo bird was satisfied.        

CONCLUSION

    The story concludes that we should follow our ethics but not blindly.The ethics are set by our seniors, they must have had their own reasons to declare this as our ethics.
