Amba Vilas Palace, popularly called Mysore Palace, is a historical palace that serves as a royal home. It's in the Karnataka city of Mysore. The seat of the Kingdom of Mysore and the official house of the Wadiyar family were once located there. The palace looks east toward the Chamundi Hills and is located in the heart of Mysore.

With a five-story tower rising to a height of 145 feet, the palace is a three-story building composed of exquisite grey granite with deep pink marble stones set atop. At 245 feet by 156 feet, the palace is quite large. In the late 19th century, British architects in British India employed Indo-Saracenic architecture, as demonstrated by the designs of the domes. The Neo-Classical, Indo-Islamic, Indian, and Gothic revival styles are all incorporated. The compound has three gates that lead to the palace: the East Gate, or front gate, opens only for VVIPs and other visitors during Dasara.

In Dasara, the West Gate is often open to the public, whereas the South Gate is reserved for the general public. In addition to them, the palace's cellar is home to a number of hidden passageways that go to various private locations, including the town of Srirangapatnam. The building's façade is decorated with several elaborate arches, the largest of which is supported by two longer pillars and has two smaller arches on either side. On top of the central arch sits a sculpture of Gajalakshmi, the goddess of riches, prosperity, and good fortune, seated among her elephants.

The initial plan for the Gombe Thotti was to host a doll exhibition as part of the Dasara celebrations. In Mysuru, there is a custom known as "doll worship," which dates back to the Vijaynagar period.

Golden Throne: The Golden Throne, also known as the Ambari, is located in the northernmost bay of Gombe Thotti. It is the main draw of Mysuru Palace and the royal residence of the Mysore Kingdom's kings. The central feature of this howdah is a mantapa-shaped wooden structure wrapped in 80 kg of gold sheets with elaborate motifs of flowers, greenery, and scrolls.

The castle that faces the Chamundi Hills is a representation of the Maharajas of Mysore's adoration for Goddess Chamundi. The entrance gate and arch are decorated with the coat of arms and insignia of the Mysore Kingdom. The location is rendered even more remarkable by the expansive, exquisite, and immaculate garden that envelops the palace.
