Hello everyone,

Jewellery is an essential part of human adornment, especially for women, and with growing times and changing mindsets; Even men have started wearing gold jewelry. Of all jewelry, those made of gold and silver have always been in great demand.

From earrings, nose studs, bracelets, necklaces, mangtikka to kamarbandh and toe rings, you would choose gold over diamonds any day; not because of its chemical properties, but for scientific reasons for wearing gold. In Indian culture, gold jewelry is worn on all festivities and auspicious occasions. And it is preferred to other metal classes and stones. Have you ever wondered why?

Well, science has a logical explanation for this. A study was conducted to understand why women wear gold jewelry. It was concluded that gold should be attached to her body since women were believed to be weaker than men in terms of physical strength. That would give them the sustenance they needed.

The study explained that women's physical strength decreased as they got older. In addition, childbirth also resulted in women having weak bones. So our ancestors found a solution to this problem. Women who wear gold and silver jewelry usually benefit from it, as wearing it regularly would strengthen their bones.

The scientific evidence for wearing each ornament is listed below -

Gold Earring: Ear piercing is a common practice in India. It is believed to keep the flow of electricity in the body. The nerves in the ear are connected to the eyes. In women, it also extends to the reproductive organs. Rubbing the gold earring helps improve eyesight and the reproductive cycle.

Wearing gold earrings also improves activity and alertness to stimuli.

Gold Ring: It is one of the most common pieces of jewelry worn by both men and women. Many nerve connections between the heart and brain connect to the fingers. Rubbing the gold ring on your fingers is considered healthy. For example, wearing a gold ring on your ring or pinky improves your heart health. It also prevents colds and coughs.

Golden Necklace or Mangalsutra: The Necklace or Mangalsutra helps attract positive energy that helps keep the mind and body healthy. It is also said that rubbing the gold chain around the neck area, where there are several nerve canals, helps regulate blood circulation in the body.

Gold Bracelets: Gold bracelets help regulate blood circulation in the body. Due to its circular shape, electromagnetic energy that penetrates the outer skin is directed back to the body, improving overall blood circulation.

Gold Mangtikka: Wearing a gold ornament over the temple of the head helps regulate body temperature while keeping you calm and focused.
Gold Toe Rings: Usually worn on the second toe, gold toe rings act as a good conductor of electricity between the body and the ground. The nerves present in the second toe also pass through the uterus to the heart. Wearing a toe ring helps improve the reproductive cycle and maintain blood pressure.

Gold Nose Rings: Wearing gold nose rings or pins helps relieve the pain during the menstrual cycle. It also relieves complications during pregnancy and childbirth.

Gold Kamarbandh: Wearing a gold jewelry around the waist helps to make acupuncture contacts in the body, thus helping to prevent many physical pains, cold and cough, and shortness of breath.

If you delve deeper into gold, you can find many other scientific reasons for wearing gold and why it has been a reliable asset for centuries. Aside from all the scientific reasons to wear gold, another reason gold is good for making jewelry is because of its inert properties. Gold does not react with the skin and retains its healing properties.
