Venting out is letting out the emotions that is bottled up for sometime. It almost like we are taking a breath of fresh air after being in the closed room for a while. It is a necessity for mental health.

Imagine a balloon that is already filled with air, what would happen if you keep pumping air into it? It will end up bursting right? People who don't get past what is bothering them and keep them for a long time will be effected by it and may even face emotional outburst. Research indicates that it is best to vent out for immediate comfort and well being. Most people confide in loved ones or friends and it is best way to talk about the problems. Since it is an emotional outburst, people hearing it may be slightly affected to some extent. Therefore make sure that the person hearing you out knows what he or she is signing up for. Don't vent with no end in sight as this may put the person listen under stress. It is always best to follow certain limits and rules for easy conversations.

Most of us don't feel comfortable talking about our emotions to others. They would have the fear of being judged. That is absolutely normal. But it is also best to have friends that you can count on. Some of the other ways of venting out are, exercising, journaling, practicing gratitude, art or music, taking a walk, cooking, watching a movie or going to places that has a calming effect on you. There are people that love beaches, libraries or garden. Try your favorite place and it will definitely help you.

There is absolutely nothing wrong to not being able to share your emotions with friends or family. In that case, try going to a therapist and they will help out. You wouldn't have the fear of being judged when you visit a therapist. Also they can also make you understand why you can't trust your friends or family.
