The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland that presents low on the front of the neck. The thyroid lies below the adam's apple in front of the windpipe. The thyroid doesn't produce enough hormone the balance of chemical reaction in the body can be upset. Cortisol hormone (stress hormone) increase in high level that decreases thyroxine and also affects testosterone. 

THYROID GLAND 

There are two types of thyroid 

  1. Hypothyroidism:- Also called underactive thyroid, a condition in which the thyroid gland doesn't produce enough thyroid hormones. Its deficiency can disturb such as heart rate, body temperature. The thyroid makes you feel tired, fatigued and gains weight. In this T4 increase and T3 decreases.
  2. Hyperthyroidism: is also called overactive thyroid, a condition in which the thyroid gland produces too much thyroxine hormone. It increases metabolism, unexpected weight loss, irregular heartbeat, sweating and irritability.

FOOD TO BE AVOIDED: - 

Cabbage 

Broccoli

Soya 

Tofu

Refined oil

Kale 

Cauliflower

Spinach

Peanuts

Pine nuts

FOOD TO BE INCLUDED:-

Rock salt

Corriander water

Eggs

Dairy 

Fish 

Brown rice 

Moong dal

Quinoa

Chicken 

Dahi (yoghurt)

Pumpkin seeds

The nutrient that is great for the thyroid are iodine, selenium and zinc, iodine is an essential component of thyroid hormone and its deficiency cause brain damage.

With this food groups exercise is also play a very important role and do at least 15 to 20 minutes o of exercise or yoga for better results and drink at least 2 to 3-litre water on a daily basis. 

Micronutrients, mostly iodine and selenium, are required for thyroid hormone synthesis and function. Iodine is an essential component of thyroid hormones and its deficiency is considered the most common cause of preventable brain damage in the world. Three different selenium-dependent iodothyronine deiodinases (types I, II, and III) can both activate and inactivate thyroid hormones, making selenium an essential micronutrient for normal development, growth, and metabolism.

Staying hydrated is good for every individual and it speeds up the metabolism indigestion, staying hydrated is maintain body balance. The thyroid mostly occurs in women as compared to men's.

Eliminate the processed food in your diet and start consuming/eating healthy homemade recipes that make you healthy and fuller for a longer time and skip the table salt because the sodium in any form unhealthy for thyroid patients, add rock salt in your meal.

Add good fats to your diets like olive oil, coconut oil and healthy nuts and salmon which very good source of good fat.
