Momos are dumplings that are derived from South Asia and have now become a traditional delicacy in Nepal. This recipe is healthy guys because it contains zero oil steamed momos with a lot and a lot of vegetables in it.
Ingredients:-
For the outer cover, you need-
1 cup of whole wheat flour/atta
2 tbsp of oil
¼ of salt
¼ cup of water
For the stuffing you need-
⅓ cup of cabbage
⅓ cup of carrot
⅓ cup of capsicum
⅓ cup of onion or spring onion
1½ tbsp of chopped ginger
1 tbsp of chopped green chilly
1 tbsp of back pepper
Salt according to your taste
Method:-
(For outer covering)
(For inside stuffing)
Shaping Whole wheat momos-
1.Divide the dough in small size balls
2.Roll each ball into a thin circle. Try to bring edges thin and the center is thick.
3.Apply water with your fingertip to the edges of the circle.
4.Place 2 tbsp of stuffing in the center.
5.Lift one side of the edge and start to pleat.
6.Start folding and forming pleats one by one.
7.In the end, join the pleats in the center.
8.Prepare all the momos and keep the covering in a moist napkin.
9.Once the steam is ready place the momos in the greased pan and lets it get steamed for 20-25 minutes.
10.Your momos are ready. Serve it with red chili garlic chutney. They also go very well with a spicy sauce.
