Many people go ruckus when it comes to filing the complaint of any offence as for them, it is tedious task to report as it requires to understand jurisdiction of police station where the complaint to be lodged.
2. One can ask for water and use the washroom for free in hotels.
As per the law, any individual is allowed to ask for water for free at any hotel. One can also use the restroom of the hotel for free even if they are not their guests.
3. A police officer is always on-duty
If the police officers receive any complaint or notice any offence happening around them, they will have to proceed with their implied lawful conduct even though they are not in uniform.
4. Live- in Relationships are not illegal.
Live- in relationships are not illegal if both the individuals are adults. Even the offspring out of such relationship has been given legality & are entitled to have share in their parents' property.
5. A pregnant woman cannot be fired from her job.
If such law is not abide by, the person doing so will be punished with fine and imprisonment for up to 3 months.
6. A police officer cannot refuse to lodge an FIR.
If the police refuses to file a FIR, he/she will be suspended and can even get imprisoned for the same.
7. If a cylinder gets exploded, the person is entitled to get up to 50 Lakhs INR.
In India, all the registered LPG customers are entitled to get compensation of 50 lakhs in case of cylinder explosion for the entire family.
8. Only women officer can arrest the women and cannot be arrested after sunset and before sunrise.
Herein she has all rights to refuse to go to police station. Moreover, they can refuse to go to police station in case the women officers are not accompanied with the police personnel.
9. A single man cannot adopt a girl child.
This rule has been inculcated so as to keep the adoption of the girl child clean, safe & protected.
10. A shopkeeper cannot charge beyond the printed price.
Any shopkeeper cannot charge more than the printed price, which is the MRP of any commodity. Moreover, the consumer is entitled to bargain for less than the printed price of commodity.
