Birbal (1528-1586) or Raja Birbal, was an advisor and minister in the court of Mughal Emperor Akbar. He is mostly known in the Indian subcontinent through folk tales centered around his knowledge. Birbal was also appointed as a poet in Akbar`s court. He was closely associated with the emperor. He was a member of a very important group in Akbar's court called Navaratnams. Birbal was the only Hindu who followed Deen-e Ilahi, the religion established by Akbar. In 1586, Birbal led an army to quell unrest in the northwestern Indian subcontinent. So, he was killed by the rebel tribes there.Towards the end of Akbar's reign, local folklore emerged that included his association with Akbar. These stories portray Birbal as very intelligent and witty. As the stories became popular in India, he became a legendary figure across the Indian subcontinent. These stories outshine his rival courtiers and sometimes even Akbar. Also, these stories are said to have charmed Akbar because of Birbal's wit and humorous responses. Plays, films and books have been published based on these folk tales. Some of these are featured in children's favorite picture story books and school textbooks.

Born Birbal Mahesh Das as the third son in 1528 to a Hindu Kayastha Brahmin family in the Sidi district of Madhya Pradesh, India;[1] according to folklore, it was in Tikawanpur on the banks of the Yamuna River.[2].[3] His father is Ganga Das and mother is Anaba Davido. He was educated in Hindi, Sanskrit and Persian. Birbal specialized in music and poetry in Braj language. Served as "Brahma Kavi" in the Rajput court of Raja Ram Chandra of Rewa (Madhya Pradesh). Birbal's economic and social status improved when he married the daughter of a respected and wealthy family, contrary to the perception that he was in a poor economic position before his appointment to Mughal Emperor Akbar's imperial court.Birbal's position and relationship with Akbar

Birbal served as a religious advisor, a military figure and a close friend of the emperor. In 1572, he was part of a large army sent to help Husain Quli Khan against an attack by Akbar's brother Hakim Mirza, his first military role. Later he accompanied the Emperor during his Gujarat campaigns. Despite having no military background, he often participated in battles. Thank you guys.
