Hi everyone!

I have come across some amazing blogs this week and this motivates me to write more. Today in this blog I'll tell you all about gratitude and why one should practice it, also how!

Everyone can get the benefit of practicing gratitude every day. These three things mentioned below will help you feel grateful and appreciative of the good things in life. 

  1. Always notice the little things in life and focus on them.
  2. Savor, absorb and be thankful
  3. Express the gratitude to yourself first and maintain a journal.

NOTICE THE SMALL THINGS IN YOUR LIFE

Tune into the small little details about your life and start noticing them, sometimes we ignore the little things and focus on the bigger picture but these little things do matter and you should be grateful for them. You could try the following ideas to practice gratitude.

  1. Each date makes a note of three things you are grateful for example home, friends, good food and the community you live in. These little things make a huge difference. It's quite amazing when you notice these details and keep a check on them
  2. Maintain a gratitude journal, if you keep writing down things daily it will get easier for you to practice gratitude and becomes a habit.
  3.  always pray before you eat. This is not necessarily religious but when you start doing such little things you get to know how meaningful it is.

SAVOR THE FEELING OF GRATITUDE

There are some days wherein you feel so blessed and happy about little things and you are like “ Oh wow what a day!" This is the correct time to pause and feel the gratitude, be in the moment, and enjoy it. Let it sink in. Savor your blessings for that moment and soak it up.

Now that you have seen how to savor it, let's express them

SHOWCASE  GRATITUDE

Expressing gratitude is something more than being polite or humble. It's expressing your heart out and appreciating it.  Also whenever you thank someone it's a  form of appreciation and you have shown your gratitude towards them.

  1. If someone has done something nice to you, make sure you express your thankfulness to them. You could use sentences like “ I really appreciate you took out time for me..” or “ Thank you for being there…”
  2. Be kind, gratitude might inspire you to return a favor and do something for the person, hold the door for the person even if it takes time you should be kind and do whatever you could to return the favor. Do something for people without letting them know, don't brag about it.
