"CHAPTER: 1"

Near to the month of August. Timing: 3:45 p.m.

“Finally, it's raining!”, I said  while pressing the button of my umbrella a little harder so that I could protect myself from catching cold.

I was waiting for the traffic light to turn red so that I could cross the road safely and drink my favourite coffee while enjoying the beautiful view of rain falling, and sit at my favourite corner in my favourite restaurant which was situated on the other side of the road, right infront of me.

“Thank God, it finally got changed!", I murmured to myself and started crossing the road slowly to avoid getting patches of dirt and wet over my newly bought burnt sienna coloured straight pants though the black overcoat covering my sky blue shirt was gifted by my aunt on my 25th birthday, two years ago.

I was standing infront of the gate of the restaurant pushing the rod of my umbrella hard so that it could settle down quickly and I could occupy my seat as soon as possible before anyone else could do, though I had given a tip to one of the waiter to keep an eye over it.

The condition of the umbrella container, as per the number of the umbrellas were present there, clearly provided the proof that it was the time of monsoon season. I put my umbrella too in the container with the others, opened the door and entered the restaurant. The bell hanging above the door notified through ringing about someone's entry into the hall, indeed mine. I stepped a little ahead and searched for the seat and got disappointed after seeing someone sitting over there already. I took a deep breath and walked towards the seat, thinking about a suitable excuse to give so that I could win my seat back and fulfill my wish of witnessing the mesmerizing scene of rain falling through the window while sipping my coffee.

Hello readers!!!

I wanted to write another short story over my blogging account and after thinking alot I came up with this one.

It's the first chapter of a short tale which I am writing right now having the title, "The Encounter with the Cold Eyes".
