PCOD or polycystic ovary disease is a hormonal disorder which causes the female ovaries to enlarge or swell with small cysts on the edges. The most common and catchy symptom of PCOD is disturbance in the menstrual cycle , where women have infrequent and prolonged menstrual period with release of whitish hormones from the body before period. These hormones are mainly androgens which is a male hormone.
PCOD is a chronic disease, it's actual cause is still unknown and it is a condition which cannot be completely cured, instead you can keep a check on it or keep your control over it by changing your lifestyle , eating habits and introducing simple yoga or just one normal walk a day. No heavy workouts, just simple and few exercises. Because it is mostly observed to be a lifestyle disease.
So rather discussing about PCOD and it's symptoms I would like to focus on something which is apart from its symptoms and cure.
Let's ask a few questions first hand… Why we women have become victims of PCOD? Why this disease has become so common nowadays?
The exact cause is still unknown, but it definitely is because of the advancement in today's lifestyle, the polluted environment in which we live, the food we eat , and the stress we undergo.
The best thing we can do to our bodies for PREVENTING these hormonal disease is by reducing the craving for unhealthy food and junks when on a period. Apart from this , the foods we should strictly avoid is “Carbohydrates” ,Instead foods like green leafy vegetables and fruits should be added to our diet.
Menstruation is a phase of menstrual cycle , where toxins from the body is removed and if on this time of the month we intake carbs, the body starts to digest these carbohydrates focusing less in the removal of toxins which later leads to such incurable hormonal disorders.
It is a bit difficult to for foodies to avoid carbs in those 3,5 or 7 days but it is really important for our bodies to strictly avoid them and stay free from problems like PCOD or any other cyst in uterus and fibroids. Whenever we fall sick the doctor advices us to have simple food that's easy to digest ,same is when we are menstruating . We all need rest , a sick leave from office and extra care so is with our ovaries and our digestive system.
