Os My husband, Sateesh, comes home early after a hectic hospital duty. We had our lunch, plates are done and tried napping for sometime. As usual our tea time at 5.00 in the evening sipped hot cup of tea and sat for our regular study hours and I started doing my medical postgraduation entrance multiple choice questions. I was going through some kinda of anxiety while studying as it's just two days to my entrance exam. Was panicking, worried and doubtful about my prep. On other hand was literally cursing myself for not preparing well which happens how early we start. Took small break n I started fiddling with my social media groups on my phone.
Here comes the news of medical entrance postponement. My fellow pg aspirants from the social media groups along with me went through state of shock for a moment. Then started the chaos of the aspirants for such a sudden decision which never happened in the history of medical entrances. As more than a lakh appear for these exams once in a year and one in 5 mbbs graduates crack these exams per year. So postponement of exam is never a good decision. But when we check otherside of the coin with ongoing pandemic, gatherings at examination centre leads to more spread of virus than anything. Yes, this is true where as many pg aspirants couldn't agree with this decision. To be honest this is my 6 th attempt of this entrance and would be more shocking than anyone else and sitting for these entrances once your married with all households chores is never a easy task. I came across many messages from my juniors, and students texting teachers and many were tired to sit again and prepare . Onething I noticed was students' weren't willing to sit and study. My question is why ? Every pg aspirants would have come across droppers who do it for many reasons like no proper financial assistance, not getting branch of choice , marriage pressure, health issues many more. When we already have people giving multiple attempts despite of postponement , it's a very simple logic of getting back to the preparation.
My observation is being 6 years senior to all new pg aspirants, preparation is not a easy task neither medical profession is. Patience does play a key role! We need patience while solving mcqs, we need it while answering to proffessors in practicals, we need it while treating patients too. Medical curriculum runs on patience if we give a thought. Whatever happened is happened. Why shld we waste time thinking abt dates postponement? I get the otherside of financial issues, family pressure for continuing for few more months. But same pandemic has given us more grief by losing close ones to virus.
So what I feel is a dropper who has been financially drained for past 6 years , being dependent on someone for every financial, mental, psychological need, who has lost 6 years of normal life is still on track why can't a fresher do it. Why can't they make up mind for studying and continuing? We all have it we should learn to search and preserve it till we get what we want. Irrespective of mbbs scores thought of preparation and planning for it is a very tough job . A path which leads to many sacrifices so when already in a tough path why to make it more complicated? Accept it in its own way!
And lastly my 6 years of dropping, what i learned is time is very crucial thing in preparation. How cleverly we manage time that cleverly we can cut down our attempts. I honestly express it took me these many years just because of time management and time utilisation.
Pg aspirants, felt like sharing my experience and I did it. If I sound wrong or rude to anyone through this writing plz don't take me other way. This is personally my opinion โค๏ธ
