Hey goodies ππβ¦.hope you all are doing great π. Today I have come up with a mouthwatering recipe and ie veg Manchurian recipe π
It's an super tasty meal to have .sometimes food act as the best mood uplifting way to deal with . Veg Manchurian is an indochinese dish , veggie balls in a spicy,sweet and tangy sauce.
βAbout the recipe β
For ease of reading, I have divided this post into 3 main parts.
βSTEP 1- making veg Manchurian balls.
βSTEP 2- frying veg Manchurian balls.
βSTEP 3- making Manchurian gravy or sauce.
β LET'S Start With step1 -making vegetable balls
1 . Take the finely chopped or grated veggies in a bowl. You will need Β½ cup finely chopped cabbage ,Β½ cup grated carrots, Β½ cup finely chopped capsicum ( green bell pepper ) ,Β½ cup finely chopped French beans and Β½ cup finely chopped spring onions. You can also add any veggies that you like.
2. Then add the dry ingredients- 2 tablespoon corn starch ,2 tablespoon all purpose flour ( maida) ,Β½ teaspoon black pepper and Β½ teaspoon salt or add as required.
3. Mix and gather the whole mixture together. Then kind of mix and knead so that the veggies leave the water and you get a dough - like mixture. But do not knead like that a bread or roti dough. Press all the veggies between your palm so that veggies release all the extra juices.
4. Then take a small portion of mixture in your hand, press and roll it in your palm and make a round veggie ball.
5. Make all veggie balls this way and keep aside .You can apply some oil on your palm to avoid stickiness.
β STEP 2- FRYING VEGETABLE BALLS:
6. Heat oil for deep frying in a kauai or pan. Add a small piece of a ball to the hot oil. If the balls does not stick the bottom of the pan then this indicates that our oil is nicely heated. If the balls break,then some more binding agent is required. In that case you can add 2 to 3 tablespoon all purpose flour.
7. Gently place the balls in the hot oil .keep on turning the balls until they acquire a nice brown color. Take the balls out of the oil on a napkin so that it could absorb all the extra oil from the surface.. once the balls are ready ,then keep the balls aside.
β STEP 3: Making the sauce.
8.In a small bowl take the following 3 sauces- Β½ tablespoon soyasauce ,1 tablespoon tomato Ketchup, 2,3 tablespoon of red chilly sauce..
mix the sauce very well and keep it aside.
9 .In another bowl add 1 tablespoon corn flour and 2 tablespoon water .mix very well and keep aside.
Now comes the final step of assembling everything in one pan. Take a pan , add one tablespoon oil to it. Let the oil heat up nicely , once the oil is heated up add finely chopped onions, cabbage, carrots, beans ,capsicum together in the oil , keep on stirring the veggies. Cook then once they turn little brown.
After this add few spices to the veggies, you can add any spices that you like. Now in the pan add 2 cups of water for the gravy . Let it have a quick boil in the pan .after the boil add the fried balls and the mixture of 3 sauce that we had already made.
Mix everything all together and keep.the flame on unless the gravy becomes thickβ¦β¦ switch off the flame and your Manchurian is ready to serve
