A survey conducted in kollam district has so far confirmed that 85 children have been affected by tomato fever. officials said the number was likely to increse if children were admitted to private hospitals. They are also raising awarness among the general public about the new virul flu. Health officials are urging parents to be vigilant as children under the age of 5 are at high risk.This tomato fever has caused panic among the public. This disease is particularly reported to occur in children under the age of five. Tomato fever is one of the most common unknown disease in kerala. However it is not clear whether the disease was caused by viral influenza or chikungunya or dengue fever. As a preventive measure the authorities have launched an awarness campaign in all the villages.
