Whenever people are asked about their loved one or favorite person, they just say their partner, parents, or friends' name. It's very ordinary to love the people around you, but it's something special when you love yourself.
Yeah, we have heard people saying love yourself, improve yourself. But no one ever tells that how to love ourselves. It's not as difficult as you thought.
When we act in ways that advance our mental, emotional, and spiritual growth, we cultivate the emotion of self-love. To love oneself is to place a high value on your pleasure and well-being. Self-love means taking care of one's own needs and refraining from jeopardizing one's health to please others.
There are three simple rules to love yourself. Firstly find the things which make you satisfied. For example, if you like skincare, haircare, and body care routines then spend your time on those things. This will make you feel satisfied with yourself and you will start loving yourself. If you love a clean and peaceful environment, then spend your time cleaning your house and making the environment peaceful by your actions. Then you will start loving yourself for making a lovely place to stay for you. So satisfying yourself makes you love yourself.
Secondly, find the things which make you happy. If you love listening to music, then spend your precious time listening to your favorite music. If you feel like eating something, then go cook yourself. If you love something to do, then first make that thing your hobby.
Thirdly, spend your time with the people who respect you and your decisions. There is a great fact that a person's personality entirely depends on the people they spend time with. So find good people with good intentions. If you have good people around you, they'll make love yourself by their actions.
I think I conveyed all the possible ways to love yourselves. It's a time to share my self-love journey. After a big heartbreak, I felt like hating myself the most. I blamed myself for everything that happened, even though I gave a hundred percent effort. I felt like my life falls apart. At the same time, I didn't like spending my time crying and sleeping. So I recall the time when I used to do things that make me happy. And I started doing things that make me satisfied and happy. The great advice I have ever received is that if something makes you happy, it doesn't need to make sense to others. So do things that make you love yourself.
