One medium-sized (regular) idli has 35–39 calories, 2-3 grammes of protein, 2–5 grammes of dietary fibre, and 6–10 grammes of carbohydrates. Depending on the flavouring used, it also contains trace levels of calcium, folate, potassium, and vitamin A.

What distinguishes Thatte Idli from ordinary idli? Compared to ordinary idlis, thatte idlis are bigger and have a flat, plate-like shape. Its distinct texture and flavour are also a result of the combination of rice, lentils, fenugreek seeds, and tapioca pearls.
