In Maharashtra their are many dishes are popular. One of this is puranpolii the yallow flatbread. It is very popular in Maharashtra as well as in karnatka and gujrat also. Puranpolii is the sweet dish made for the special occasions like Diwali, Holi, Ganesh chaturthi. It is very testy sweet dish, like from the childrens to yelders. Puran meanse the sweet feeling of chana dal and poli is the flatbread.

βˆ† Delicious.

βˆ† Easy to make.

βˆ† Full of flavour.

βˆ† Perfect for festival.

Ingredients to make puranpolii.

For Puran: bengal gram (chana dal), sugar or jaggery, ghee, nutmeg.

PROCEDURE : firstly taje the chana dal and clean it with water and soaked it into two or three cups of water for an hour, after soaking into water, soaked again this bengal gram into the cooker for 30 minutes or as per quantity it take more time.after the three or four whistle switch off the gas flame and make sure that cooker will be cold and then open it. And grind the chana dal into mixture in very thin layer. Take the big vessel of steel (patelaa) and put it on the gas firstly add ghee into it, after heating the ghee add grind chana daal thin paste and mix it well after mixing add jaggery into the chana daal, mix it well for long time after the half hour it's color get converted and batter start to become hard.

For Dough: Dough of puranpolii is made of whole flavour, salt, ghee and water. Ghee is additional thing for a nice poli dough. Make the dough soft by adding small small water as per requirement. Don't add more water at a time.

When both the puran and dough is Reddy. Make a chapati and stuffed with the sweet stuffing of puran and finally puran poli is ready.

Try to use organic jaggery it might dark in colour bt free from chemicals that are used to bleach the jaggery for light colour. The filling is flavoured with nutmeg powder, that enhanced the flavour of puranpolii even more. As per our choice some people add grind ginger and grind ferrel for the test, and it give a Beautiful aroma to the feeling. In Maharashtra generally chana dal is used for the feeling, but in gujarat toovar dal is preferred for feeling.

It is delicious dish..πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ love by all. Puranpoli is complicated to make but once you made it you absolutely love it.
