Amrutha, a young girl, after having her supper goes to her room; opens the windows; It was then she was kissed by the gentle cool breeze. That lovely satity feeling without her conscious made her look through the window. She then notices something that had never caught her attention since her childhood. It was the clear sky and the full moon tucked in the blanket of clouds with the company of twinkling stars. She gets into her PJ's and goes to bed.
Then comes the dream that changed her life.
She was travelling in a bus with a companion. This companion of hers was tall, huge and had a great stature of a king. She could not see the face of the companion but his words were crystal clear and perfectly audible. After failing a couple of times in seeing the face she gave up and decided to concentrate on the journey. She asked the companion his whereabouts. The answer for every question was a gentle smile. She then questioned him, “Aren't you curious about me? Dont you wanna ask any questions?” Then, her companion replied “ I already know everything about you.” Amrutha initially hesitated but later was convinced that she could trust the companion. She began to share her feelings and expressed her thoughts that how empty her life was. She mentioned that she wanted to kick-start her career and find a good job and earn money. She also told the companion that she wanted to be a responsible daughter and there by support her parents financially. One of the most important things she forgot to notice was they were passing through beautiful scenes of nature. Out of curiosity she looked outside and splinters of rain drops sprinkled on her face. One strange thing is that Amrutha could not only see everything but also could feel each and everything. The earthen smell of soil before it rains, the cool breeze, the green mountain ranges which she and her companion were travelling through.
Finally, they arrived at their destination and it was the top of a hill. It was crowded heavily. The companion then asked Amrutha to follow him and she did. On their way Amrutha could see a golden construction into which they were walking. Then they were at an entrance. She silently followed her companion. Then they came to a place which had 7 large doors plated with gold. The companion then asked Amrutha to look through the doors and wish for anything that she wanted and told that she would get it. Amrutha didn't understand anything and was in a great confusion. She argued with her companion that it was highly impossible and she wouldn't trust such illusional things; still unable to recognize her companion and only could hear his voice. The companion said, “Trust me and look through the doors and go ahead”. Amrutha didn't like being forced and was trying hard to open her eyes and come out of the dream. But she was not able to. The companion with a gentle smile then said “You cannot escape me until I let you” . Amrutha was now very furious but as told by companion she was left with no other choice except follow his words. She could still feel his presence and listen to his voice.
She looked through the doors and there was a chamber in which the seventh door ended. Amrutha turned to the companion and said, “Is this some sort of prank you are playing on me?”. Then the companion laughed and said, “ You saw through the doors just for my sake and also because you wanted to get out of this illusion. This isn't gonna work. You have to trust me completely and then see through the doors and walk in If you feel like doing so.” This time Amrutha was watching him carefully while he was talking and was convinced. She wanted to give it a shot whole heartedly. So she decided and told her companion, “OK! Now I trust you and will give a shot sincerely one last time. But you have to promise me that you will let me go after that.” Companion again laughed; this time even more loudly and said. “OK Dear, as you wish!”. Amrutha took her sight off the companion and saw through the doors.
She was surprised and shocked and could not believe her own eyes and also ears this time. From no where all of a sudden she could here people's voices chanting a name. The sight before her was something unbelievable. It was none other than the statue of LORD SRI VENKATESWARA. Her eyes were filled with happy tears. She was blessed and wanted to go in and see him. Before that she wanted to thank her companion for giving her such a beautiful experience and turned back. To her surprise the place was all empty. She didnot understand what was going on. She heard her companion's voice, “Come in and thank me dear”. She then understood everything and ran through the doors. On reaching the seventh door, she stood there with her heart and sole filled with great devotion and fell on the feet of lord and asked him to forgive her. Lord replied, “May all your dreams come true!”.
She now opened her eyes, came out of the dream; tears rolled down her cheeks. A small detail that we've missed was that Amrutha was an Atheist. But this dream changed her perspective. She then realized that It was the LORD VENKATESWARA - her companion. She travelled the 7 hills of Tirumala with the lord himself. He accompanied her into the temple and through the doors. She was more than lucky and blessed.
His voice was echoing in her ears, “ Keep trust in me and go ahead!” “May all your dreams come true!” She realized how stupid she was and became his devotee and thanked him for the DREAM!
