In this blog I would like to convey about the facts and circumstances of the solar atmosphere of the Solar System with reference to the role of Sun in which the topic of the content belong to the subdiscipline of Astronomy - Space Science.

In the starting point of view it is believed that sun is the heart spot of the entire solar system that is a static bole of fire regulate the entire solar atmosphere.

Key facts & features:- Sun

  • The sun moves with average speed of 250 km per second in a circular path.
  • Period of time & revolution is about 25 million years.
  • Its central part takes 25 days rotating towards on the equatorial edge of the sun. Projecting to the globe.
  • And 35 days to complete on the polar part of the sun.
  • Sun's diameter is estimated to be 13 lakhs 92 thousands km depends on around the Milky Way.
  • The sun is basically a gaseous envelope.
  • Relative mass of the sun is 3,32946
  • Core temperature is about 1,50,0000 degree Celsius
  • With chemical composition that is comprised of 71% Hydrogen & Helium 26.5% and remaining elements 2.5%
  • 10 million years is assumed to be span of life of the sun.
  • The sun is assumed to be divided into three distinct layers -  a) Core: - which is the inner most layer of the sun. Tremendous amount of energy and hydrogen is formed. This is the portion where hydrogen nuclear molecules are formed and transformed into Helium nuclear molecules generated by the process of nuclear fusion.
  • b) Convective layer: is formed just above the core layer where the huge amount of energy is generated and get convected with core layer.
  • c) Photosphere: the third and outer layer of the sun. The radiation light of the sun is generated from this layer of the sun and solar diameter of the sun is determined.

Significance of the Solar Atmosphere in the Solar System:

  • Solar atmosphere is divided into three distinct layers: Chromosphere, Corona and Sun's sports.
  • A) Chromosphere: Topmost layer of the Photosphere. The entire layer is composed of hydrogen. This layer plays a crucial role at the time of full solar eclipse because it appears has changed and turns into a bright pink flash.
  • B) Corona: This layer is formed just behind the Chromosphere. Outer layer of the solar atmosphere. This portion of the solar atmosphere normally observed during the time of solar eclipse. Corona doesn't appear to be visible generally but during solar eclipse it is only visible when the Photosphere portion of the sun is completely covered.
  • C) Sunspots: The sunspots are formed due to the burning of gases present inside portion of the sun. It makes a hallow space inside of the body of the sun. The sun's spots are formed due to burning of gases at the highest temperature of 1500 degree celsius less than that of surrounding surface of the sun. The period of visible of the sun's spots has begin from 1-2 days to 2-3 months respectively.
