In this blog I would like to convey my ideas and thoughts regarding the two different concepts dealing with the usage of paper medical records in a healthcare services after the emergence EMR transition and seek to root out the differences and similarities.

In this blog I want to convey about the physical difference between the paper medical records and Electronic Medical Records so let's begin.

First and foremost there are some distinctive features that helps you to understand more clearly about the two concepts.

Paper records of medical health and patients are personal to use because of maintaining paper files require countless documents so they are not cost effective but storing those records via transition of EMR reduce the cost and takes less time to manage.

Large Warehouse is required to store the paper medical records provide by healthcare services. Require high storage to kept it. Those records are also even demand due to any kind human error occurred meanwhile they are less environmently friendly.

While in case of EMR requires less man power, time and physical storage space are needed & stored in a private and secure cloud.

In case of security concerns both paper records and Electronic Medical Records are susceptible. Through the help of EMR compliant managed hosting provider serves as a better option for providers concerned about the security of an internal electronic storage system.

If records are in document form physically there more open to compromise it means that those records are being destroyed by any kind of error occurred by medical works and aslo have demaged due to the sudden hazard of natural calamities like fire or flood.

Whereas in terms of granting any access to the physical records by medical workers as they shared with those who need them where they must be recovered the records perhaps from a massive warehouse and sent it via email in which it can take more time consuming in process such countless documents.

However it take less time if any kind of medical records sent via EMR because of its faster process anyone could send the details via email at any time meanwhile it reduces time consuming and allows healthcare professionals to access the information they need almost instantly.

Due to the physician’s illegible penmanship and poor handwriting paper records are often difficult to read and understand by the patients even

Paper medical records are often require insufficient space for medical professionals to write any kind of important information in a physical piece of paper.

While on the other hand, electronic medical records are written in the Standard typeface format and terminology so that it's easy to understand and leaves no room for confusion and patients are treated more timely manner.
