In this blog am going to convey about the influence of Geomorphology and Geology with reference to the study of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Exploring the Andaman and Nicobar Islands has associated with numerous small landforms i e the geomorphic processes dealing with topography of Andaman and Nicobar Archipelago has revolves around Coastal and Karst landforms.

Geomorphologically, the landscape are being bounded by rich diversity of small landforms. Starting from the Brenches which are the commonly found on the islands of Andaman & Nicobar groups. Islands of different groups have different types of landforms depending on the shape size and structure.

Brenches are composed of sediments formed by erosional and depositional geomorphic processes dealing with various factors like longshore currents, tides, rip currents mostly indentified nearby the shoreline of the islands.

Tombolo is the common geomorphic feature commonly found in the islands of Andaman and Nicobar groups. Tombolo comprised of sand bars helps to join an island to other group of islands associated with the mainland. Tombolo takes place in various geomorphic forms - single, double and multiple forms. These Tombolo has formed as boundary from the southern edge of the Ross Island to the northern edge of the Smith Island.

Karst landforms are found in the west coast of Neil Island belonging to Andaman Group of Islands while the shape of karstic features takes place due to the formation of bare rock surface. A cliff section has marked at the topmost layer of portion of Neill Island constitutes of different types of irregularly sharped pores and clocking produced by the various geomorphic processes such as weathering, dissolution and biogenic corression. Karst landforms formed due to presence of longshore shift and current regulate it's portion by depending upon various climatic conditions and temperature variations.

Geologically, breches deals with mineral combination and brech rocks contains calcium carbonate layers and cremated beach sediments. These beach rocks may take the form of hard sandstone due to wetting and drying of beach face. The beach-rocks are formed by limestone, sandstone, silicon and calcium carbonate and radiocarbon parent rockes in the Late Quaternary Period. While the geological formations are being processed by different types of lithologies constitutes corel and bivalve shells internally displaced with sand, gables granules. Limestone are associated with the beach rocks of beaches Andaman and Nicobar Islands cremated by well- round white shape which are found nearby by shoreline of the aderoble islands.
