- Today, everything else has been digitized. Everyone has a smartphone in their hands.
- But it heavily depends upon the utilize of social media networks by the youngsters
- Because those networking sites have some certain positive and negative effects that may suffer by teenagers every day.
- The positive influence of social media on the youths has advanced their lifestyles, but the continuous flow of using these networks may cause harm to their health.
- It has been mostly seen among the teenagers who belong to the age group below 18 years.
- Furthermore also seen among the group of adolescence.
Facts and Circumstances:
- Social media connects us to our beloved ones i.e. family and friends in a virtual world.
- With having these networks we can utilize our leisure time. But in the case of a teenager who has used social networks as a hobby.
- Therefore, an excessive amount of time has been used by him without utilizing his valuable time.
- These problems may happen with our children, teenagers, and middle ones.
- Consequently, it is ensured that how does a seemingly harmless hobby may turn into an addiction.
- However social media affect the behavior of people in both physical and psychological nature.
Drawbacks of Social Media:
- Cyberbullying: it is the extensive demerit of using social media because in this case, one can make a fake account in terms of annoying other people's accounts by posting nasty comments.
- Hacking: This is the awful disadvantage of social media: As we all know that hacking is an illegal activity in which someone can steal personal privacy without having any permission of that particular person.
- Internet Addiction: It is a familiar demerit caused by excessive use of the social network common in teenagers.
- Fraud and Scams: This is another major problem that may happen to numerous people. Such as Hidden Urls, Phishing websites, Hidden Charges, etc.
- Physiological problems-I: Anxiety, brain disorders, depression, loneliness, emotional distress, mental disorders, unpleasant cognitive-behavioral patterns.
- Physiological problems-II: low self-esteem, isolation, self-absorption, mental discomfort, and suicide attempts, FOMO stands for Fear of Missing Out, it may reduce self-esteem and mental stability in people by using social media.
- Additionally, people can manipulate social networking sites by spending a longer period that may cause societal issues such as an away from parents, beloved colleagues, while a lesser amount of time has been spending by the young ones that may reduce mutual relationships among them. This problem mainly occurs in the behavior patterns of teenagers and children who have new to the virtual world.
