It's been more than a year since the pandemic has hit the world and it is still there so ‘was’ can't be used in this case. When the new decade has begun, all of us had many plans and thought that it would be the game changer, 2020 would be the Beginning of Everything and all that and so on. Forget us, the world itself had massive plans and all that was ruined by a virus. 

The first two months were going quite well even though the news of a certain virus was spreading to which we didn't pay heed to until March and that resulted in lockdown where people were stuck in one particular places for way too long, and waited to leave. I was at my aunt's place from March 2020 till September 2020 along with my cousins and sister because we couldn't go and it wasn't safe to leave.

During those months, I was just looking forward to leave and was hoping that the next month would be better. When the pandemic actually hit in March, I hoped it would be fine in April, and when April came, I hoped May would be better, and when May came, I hoped for June, and when June came, I hoped for July, and when July came, I lost all hope. I knew it wouldn't happen so soon and I was okay with that but I didn't want to stay there for too long. I went home in September and then moved to a city for my diploma course in January and is staying alone which is fine. 

2020 was the Year that we thought to be a Game Changer in the beginning but in the end of the year, we hated it and wanted it to end as soon as possible. But 2021 is no different especially with the second wave and now the third wave is said to come. Well, the pandemic has brought misery to many, not literally for everyone but you know what I am trying to say. 

The pandemic might have been detrimental and beneficial for many at the same time. For me, I realised the benefit in a detrimental situation and the detriment in a beneficial situation. The pandemic has been the reason any layers of illusions have been shredded as the outcomes have been disappointing. It was also the reason for my perceptions and ambitions to alter. Everything is happening for a reason; it good or bad. 

Even if I say all this, I hate all of it. It is still struggle for survival in a way and I hope that this too shall pass as quickly as possible.
