First of all, welcome to August. This is my first blog post of the month and I have been wanting to write up much earlier but was caught up with things to be sorted. The month started good and gave me a high and just like everyone, we tell ourselves that we are going to kick-start at the beginning of the month and give it our all. I have done that a lot of times. Sometimes, it wouldn't happen on the first day of the month as planned and so we push it to the second or the third day or the fifth or the sixth or the eighth day because it is week two of the new month or maybe ten, like today.
I can assure you that the first four days of the month was consistent to an extent though I was caught up with other work and I stayed home in the remaining days with the current situation. That is a valid reason and I hope to step out later in the evening. This happens most of the time. When I actually set my mind and heart to do something, to fully focus, it gets disrupted by an external or internal factors, such as the weather conditions, or me feeling unwell, or a different commitment and all I could do is not fall prey to it and do my part well, because it is your life and only I can change my life. No one else can do it for me.
You say you have a dream, you want to be self-sufficient, you want to be that… One Man Army, which you can but I tell you, it won't happen overnight. You have to work your way to it. You want to gain muscles and look healthy enough to bash the thugs down (and not actually do it) Hit the gym or do home-workouts or go for a run. It takes time and effort which you have to be consistent with. You want to learn cooking? Instead of planning to learn cooking, go down to the kitchen and help your parent or partner with making something at least by cutting vegetables or marinating the chicken. You have to start somewhere. Sure you will make mistakes and you may make a fool out of yourself. But eventually, you will do better as long as you are consistent with the practice.
You worked at a coffee shop and you weren't making drinks in a fast-paced environment until after five to six months and eventually you got better. It is okay to make mistakes but don't forget to learn from it and rectify it instead of backing out instantly because that won't get you anywhere.
Get into action. Make August Awesome. You can't be a John Wick or a Billy Butcher overnight just because you watched them on screen and vibing to their energy only to lose it the next day and eventually being back to that sore-loser.
Well, you can rule the remaining four months of the year as long as you are willing to work your way out and keep working and be consistent instead of telling yourself you would do it.
The quotes and one-liners you tell yourself aren't enough. Get to work.
