I don't know how many of you watch the drama name "Prison Playbook", but this drama is another level of masterpiece. I think this drama is the most underrated k-drama in K-drama history. I recently watch this drama and it's really a hidden gem.
At first I thought that it's bound to be a violence drama because of the title, but I was totally wrong. It indeed has some violence but other than that the plot is really amazing.
Coming to the story a famous left-handed baseball pitcher, who was convicted after saving his sister from a sexual attack. He chase that guy and fight with him and in a self defence he attack him with a memento in his head. For that reason the guy declared as brain dead. Becaus he attack him in a self-defense and the guy is the original criminal, he only receives one year sentence in prison where he reunites with his long lost childhood best friend who works there as a prison guard. This is a story about how he live his prison life , the people he encounters there and how he helped his fellow cellmates and their families.
If you are a die-hard K-drama fan like me, you will recognize most of the actors in this drama. The two main leads of this drama has their own charm. A friendship that has no bound. They can die for each other. One of the jail guards surely gets on your nerves. I really hate him by the core of my heart in this drama. But some of them just owe your heart. There are some funny characters also. They give them the perfect amount of laugh you needed. In this drama they also shows us the caring relationships between guards and cellmates. It also shows that if you have power you can use it for betterment. Overall the actors live their character perfectly. The story is not messy at all. And most importantly this drama make you weep a lot.
The drama hence prove that “ The world will knock you down plenty. You don't need to be doing it to yourself.” It's really a slice of life. It shows that everyone has someone special for whom you can do everything and there is nothing beyond kindness. You don’t have to be a criminal to relate to them. It's just show you that sometimes your choices was wrong, and sometimes the people around was wrong which makes you suffer badly. That doesn't mean you have to be bad. Kindness is really important and if you love someone just tell them that you love him or her, don't miss the chance. This drama is also show that chances is very important and everyone deserves a second chance in their life. If you hasn't watch this drama yet, please go and watch. I really fall in love with every character in this drama.
