Ip man was a Chinese Martial artist who is grandmaster of the martial art Wing Chun. He was born in Foshan 1st October 1893. He learnt Wing Chun from the master Chan-Wah-Shun when he was 13 years old for 3 years. Then Ip man learned most of the skills and techniques from the master Chan's 1st student Ng Cheung Sok. At the age of 16 Ip man went to the Hong Kong, there he was challenged by the man called Lueng Bik. Ip man got defeated easily. Thus ip decided to train with Leung Bik. in 1916 Ip man returned to foshan at the age of 24. There he taught Wing Chun to some of his friends and relatives but did not run the martial art school officially. He married Cheung Wing-Sing, they had two daughters and two sons Ip chun (elder son) alive till now and Ip ching (died at 2020). 

Ip man became police officer for nationalist government, he was a member of Kuomintang and he joined the CBI in Guizhon at 1938. Then again he returned to foshan as undercover intelligence officer. At the end of 1949 after Chinese civil war, Ip and his family moved to the Hong Kong. There Ip man started teaching the martial art. The business was running poor because of his students was staying only for couple of months. Ip man runned his school twice, by the time some of his students became proficiency in Wing Chun and they started to open their own school. His students used to fight with other martial artist to compare their skills and their victory helped to increase the IP man's fame. In 1967 Ip man and his students open the Wing Chun Athletic Association. Ip man's best and famous student was Bruce lee who was late film actor and martial artist and founder of Jeet Kune Do. Then comes Wong Shun Leung, Ip man's 1st student and who was the most senior of all the students and he helped Bruce lee for his training. Since then IP man's legacy is the global practice of Wing Chun, where he and his students bought the Wing Chun martial art to modern world.

Wing Chun is the Ancient martial art which as come from lineage, because Wing Chun was the most powerful kung fu and it's teaching was against the wrong people. Though it cannot be hidden for long time IP man brought this martial art to modern world and this martial art has become the most effective and strong martial art in the world.
