Remember reading the moral science books in your junior classes? I miss those the most. The morals taught at the end of a story used to teach us a lot than we can think. Apart from retaining the phrase “ Honesty is the best policy”, we forgot the rest. However, lets use this platform to revise all those life lessons.

There was an admirable friend of a soldier who was seeking a job at the king's court. The soldier friend when got to know his friend's desire, he decided to help him. He went to the king and told him that his friend is very talented and astute but is unable to fetch a job. The king thought to test him and asked the soldier to bring his friend the next day.

The following day at the king's court, the soldier and his friend Ramesh marked their presence. The king said that under his kingdom, there lies a village where people have not yet paid their revenues and asked Ramesh if he can get the dues he would be hired for a job at the court. He received all the related papers and went to the village concerned to get the revenues. When he reached there and talked with the villagers, he got to know that due to bad whether the crops failed and hence they are unable to pay the dues.

Ramesh thought for a moment and told the villagers that they don't need to pay the amount. Even then the villagers were not very convinced with the announcement as they knew that Ramesh still have those papers and other person might come later on to get the dues. When Ramesh got to know this, he burnt all the papers infront of the villagers and they got very excited and told him to send their regards and good wishes to the king.

When Ramesh got back at the kingdom and informed the king that the villagers are unable to pay the revenue and therefore he helped him and burnt all the papers. The king got very angry at him kicked him out from the court.

However, after months later the king was attacked by some hostile kingdom all of a sudden and the king had no other option but to flee to a safe place with his family. The king with his family ran to a village and asked for help. To his surprise that village was the same one whose revenue dues were waived off few months earlier. The villagers helped him in their full capacity and the king also formed association with his allies and attacked the rivals. They defeated the rivals and the king got his kingdom back. Meanwhile, the king sent for Ramesh and hired him at a dignified position at the court.

Moral- An act of kindness never goes in vain. There might be not a monetary gain but a good karma always pays you. Hence be good to others and keep spreading love.
