Are You Also A 99 Club Member?

Do you remember that childhood riddle which goes like “Which is the one gate in the world in which you can't enter? And the answer to this was COLGATE” I know that's not at all funny. Anyways my point is, similarly we have a club where you don't enter intentionally but you might be one of the member. Let me elaborate it with an anecdote.

Once upon a time there was a kingdom named  "Raisena”. The king of this kingdom despite having all the wealth and prosperity used to be miserable and downhearted. One fine day he called upon his Prime Minister and told him about his miserable condition and asked him to find a way out of this. The PM understood the situation and asked the king to some with him. Both of them got dressed up as a common man went for a walk in the nearby village.

Both of them stopped in front of a blacksmith's house. Upon noticing the family happily playing and enjoying with each other despite all the lack of wealth, the king was dumbstruck and inquired the PM that how can a person be so happy without money?

The PM smiled gently and said Oh King! just wait and watch. And then he took out a small pouch out of his pyjama which contained 99 gold coins. He kept that pouch at the doorstep of blacksmith's house and left. Upon being asked by the king about the reason behind it he simply smiled and told him to wait for a month and then he would reveal the reason. Both of them went back.

At the blacksmith's house, when he found out the bag full of gold coins. He was overwhelmed with joy and started counting the coins. He counted and told his wife that there are 99 coins. But the wife was slightly off and wasn't very excited. Upon being inquired about the issue the wife replied " Had there been 100 coins it would have been a perfect figure and 99 seems a bit odd. The blacksmith also gave a thought on this and decided to work hard and earn a gold coin. He thought it's just a matter of a single coin and if that makes her wife happy he must do it for her.

The blacksmith went to the city and started working day and night in order to get a coin as soon as possible. He worked hard and earned a coin and went home happily. Upon reaching home he presented that coin to his wife and told her that now they have 100 coins. But his wife told him that she took out a coin from the pouch for some necessary things to buy because he was away all that time. The blacksmith understood the situation and again went back for the work to the city. This loop kept happening for a month and at last he got very angry at his wife and started fighting about how the he was working day and night for her and she is not at supporting him whereas the wife was also not at fault because something or the other keeps happening and she has to take coins to deal with the situation.

All this were happening and the same time both the king and his PM arrived and the king was astonished to see the family fighting with all that wealth by their side.

Now the PM told the king about the whole incident and later explained that like the blacksmith we all in our lives keep running after that one single coin in order to live a happy life neglecting the 99 coins already with us. After that the king lived happily ever after.

Don't forget to cherish the good things you already have in your life simply chasing the one you can't have.
