I heard in news some where that micro plastic was found in a foetus, I mean how is that even possible, but if it is then shame on us as humans. Our actions are contributing greatly towards the repercussions on our environment, our animals and ourselves. We have to slow down, if not then at least stop our damaging actions. here are some simple examples that we all could integrate into our lifestyle to strive towards a more sustainable environment.
1)DIY Booklet : so i always keep reusable papers especially those whose only one side is used and the other is not. And use it to make a booklet or a rough book to do math problems, or anything according to my requirement. Just punch all the collected pages and use a ribbon or cloth to tie them up.
2) Make your own milk : we like to make our own almond or oat milk. This reduces the plastic packing that comes with milk products and is also a really good alternative to animal milk products which produces large carbon footprint and its also a more ethical way of drinking milk. Also if you don't want to try this technique then make use of steel utensils to get milk from your dairy so we can make less use of plastic in that way.
3) Use reusable cotton rounds : If you are a girl you know exactly what I mean. 20,000 L of water is needed to produce 1kg of cotton, and cotton does not degrade as easily as you may think it does. So using cloth rounds or reusable cotton rounds we can save water as well as environment. You can wash them and use them again, you can make them at home if you feel they are too costly.
4) Use tote bags : Tote bags are reusable, fashionable and has high capacity. You can use them to shop from stationery to grocery. And sometimes you can also use one to go to college with.
5) Bring containers out for takeaway/ or just in case : so many of the time I like to eat out but not always in a fancy place. and so most of the time I buy fruits or Vada pav and they either give me in a plastic bag or a paper cover. Well if it is in a paper cover its fine but plastic bag, NO so I carry some containers with me, not too big not to short.
6) Alternative for straw: now I think everyone is well aware that we can use those reusable straws which we can wash and keep it in with ourselves rather than using those plastic ones that the restaurant provides us with.
7) Reusable bag : I always bring a reusable bag with me as you never know when you mother may call you for some dhaniaπ .
8) Bring handkerchief: I always carry a handkerchief with me so as to avoid using tissues provided by the coffee shops or any other places.
I hope you find these examples easy so as to take a little step in to saving our mother earth.
Thankyou.
