India is amongst the two top countries as far as the digital technologies are concerned only behind china. By 2023 it is expected that the digital economy is likely to exceed the one trillion dollar mark which will help India to gain the five trillion mark by 2025.
Talking about Digital India it was first established in 2015. It was scheme that the government launched to provide government services to citizens like the Make in India, Bharat mala yojana, Startup India Yojana, Stand up India and more. It has mainly focused on providing Digital infrastructure as a source of utility to every citizen, governance and services on demand and look after the digital empowerment of every citizen in India.
Around two thousand post offices in India are connected digitally now. More than two lakh seventy five thousand long fiber cables have linked gram panchayats which miles away from each other. It has also enhanced he online transactions which has brought more transparency and accountability on the side of government. It has also led to the establishment of digital villages along with well equipped facilities such as solar lightning, Wi-Fi and many more, which has made these villages self-sufficient and independent. It has also increased the urban penetration to 65% and as of now daily internet users are more than 50crore in India alone. It has also made the Indian subcontinent, especially India as a country self-sufficient and digitally attractive for foreign countries to come and invest which again led to the increase in the foreign reserves of India.
With this there are some challenges as well. The daily internet active speed is slow in rural areas as compared to other urban areas, because of which the facilities up to there full efficiency are not taken care of. Most of the small scale industries had to struggle to get use to the new technologies, which consumed a lot of time but not production. Third one is the lack or user education and skill in the manpower in the use of digital technologies. There are no facilities, no workshops, no skill shops present in the rural part of our country which has made it very difficult for the development of rural areas in terms of technology. And that is why any people especially the rural people work in their own traditional ways.
In the conclusion I would like to say, that government of India started digital India which is a very good initiative but at the same time the government should also provide to come up schemes which can provide the most basic skills to the younger generation as far as digital education is concerned. This will led us to the avaibility of large number of educated youth in digital education, which will then increase the investment of foreign country who would love to hire such youngsters and this will eventually help the economy of the country.
Thankyou🌼
