This is quite common among all. Most people keep on procrastinating their things. They just keep on postponing their work till their deadline and hurry up, stress themselves at the last moment. It makes our 30 minutes work to be completed by 8 hours or more. Can you guess what you are doing? You are just complicating your work that can be done easily. Just think for a second before procrastinating, “It doesn’t matter how much time you procrastinate, anyway its just you at the end of day who has to complete it.”

“Procrastination is like a credit card, it’s a lot of fun until you get the bill”

First of all, find what makes you to stall on your work. It might be out of slothfulness, weak determination, difficult level of the work or simply you just don’t want to do any work at that moment. But by doing this, it always maintains some tension in your mind till you complete the work. When you keep on procrastinating, it eventually becomes a habit and it takes away all your cheerfulness and carefree living which is not worth living at all. And also remember, working in hurry or haste is as much as dangerous as procrastinating your work.

“A successful man is the one who strikes the iron when it is hot”

Not tomorrow or later , do it now

Here might be few things to curb you from the habit of procrastination

  1. When you have a difficult task to be completed, divide that task into fragments, complete it little by little. After all, doing something is better than doing nothing.
  2. Keep yourself active. This might sound irrelevant but remember that procrastination is also a result of being lazy. So, when you keep yourself active it urges you to complete all your works.
  3. If you have lots of work to do, then plan it, make a schedule of your your work instead of throwing away your responsibilities. Planning your work gives you much clearer mind, and in fact gives you time for both work and leisure.
  4. Get rid of distractions before you start your work. This helps you from being sidetracked halfway through your work.
  5. Self appreciation is must. Take a moment to appreciate yourself for your work. It keeps you motivated and help you to be consistent on your work.

So, stop procrastinating. You may delay but the time will not.
