What is vitamin D?

This vitamin is fat-soluble, which means that it must be combined with fat to be better absorbed, and too high amounts can be toxic. Unlike water, you urinate excess vitamin what your body does not use. Vitamin D is extremely important for overall health as it takes care of muscles, heart, lungs, and brain function.

Being deficient in vitamin D is much more common than you think, which is why it is considered a global problem such as a pandemic.

There is a recent study showing that people who were deficient in vitamin D were more likely to get in contact with the virus, and those who are at adequate levels had a lower risk of death and serious complication in pandemics.

The reason vitamin D is so great at protecting against COVID-19 is that vitamin D plays a very important role in promoting the immune response. This means that it helps the immune system to attract attention and activate its defence systems! It even helps the improvement of how the cells of the immune system are working.

Vitamin D supplements

You can get Vitamin D in three ways:

  • Actively get sunlight from outside
  • From supplements
  • From some foods such as fish liver oil, egg yolk, mushrooms, fortified yoghurt.

Listen to your body

Our body is wise and speaks ... although sometimes we do not pay the necessary attention. Vitamin D deficiency will quickly become noticeable, since this substance is closely linked to proper muscle and bone strength, good cardiovascular health, disease prevention, etc.

Vitamin D deficiency

Signs you have vitamin D deficiency

  1. You are constantly feeling sick
  2. You are exhausted
  3. Your bone density is declining
  4. Your muscles are always sore
  5. You have back pain
  6. You are losing hair
  7. you are feeling depressed

Get your Vitamin D

Get your Vitamin D!!! Midday is the best time to get sunlight. The best source of vitamin D is the sun! It is made in the skin when it is exposed to Sunlight.

The sun is most intense at noon and that's when the sun is at its highest points, this generally translates to the ability to make more vitamin D in less time in the sun.

Sun Bath

An important nutrient in women

In women, this is an essential nutrient.

  • Vitamin D becomes a critical essential for women after menopause because of the loss of calcium and the increased risk of osteoporosis.
  • Vitamin D consumption controls calcium absorption and therefore maintains bone health.
  • A lack of this vitamin throughout childhood increases the chance of bone fracture later in life. This can be a serious health issue for women.

Patients with chronic kidney disease are another high-risk group. This sort of person is significantly more prone to have a shortage of this vitamin as well as issues with calcium metabolism.

As a result, it is critical to monitor vitamin D consumption in these individuals to guarantee proper intake and levels and to avoid problems in the long run.

Bottom Line:

You need to expose a sufficient amount of skin to sunlight to maintain healthy vitamin D blood levels. Please take advantage of the SUN!!

Do consult your doctor if you feel these symptoms. Don't take any supplements without consulting a doctor. Stay Healthy.
