This blog will clear your basic doubts, like what skin type do you have and what minimal you can do to keep your skin clean. There are broadly 4 skin types: oily, dry, normal and combination skin.
Which skin type do you have?
If you feel that your face gets greasy after 2-3 hours of washing your face, it means you have oily skin. You can feel the oil on your nose or forehead. Your skin feels sticky.
After hours of washing your face if your skin feels rough and coarse, then you have dry skin. Sometimes you can even see the skin get flaky.
If you don't feel that your face is greasy or flaky and maintains a smooth texture then you have normal skin.
Combination skin means that the person has oily as well as dry skin. Only the T-point i.e. the forehead and the nose feels oily, not rest of the face.
I hope you were able to identify what skin type you have. The picture attached will make it more clear.
Skincare Routine:
The basic rule I follow for my skincare is CTM. ( Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing). Disclaimer: I have been following this routine for more than 2 years and it works for me but I'll recommend you to consult experts if you have skin issues.
Step 1: You need a face wash that suits your skin type to cleanse your face. Ingredients in products are different according to the skin type. So pay attention while buying your products. After you wash your face, pat dry it.
Step 2: Take a cotton ball or pad and apply toner for the second step, this step is required to close your pores as washing it opens them and directly applying moisturizer will clog them. Do not rub the toner, gently apply it all over your face. Prefer a toner made of natural ingredients.
Step 3: Moisturizing your face is really important and it is a myth that applying creams will make oily skin more oily. Each skin type needs to be hydrated. Only difference will be the kind of moisturizer.
This routine should be followed twice a day.
