Yesterday, there was an important update about the major changes that are made to the functioning of candlemonk that are effective from 1st December, 2022.
It was a long and difficult to understand message, it covered many points that includes the business model, methods of monetization, rewards and coins, withdrawals, global inclusion and many more.
From what I remember let us try to understand what these changes mean to those who are a part of this community:
2. Misuse: there are some people who are misusing the site to get higher number of followers, views and likes, which is something that is beyond the control of the site.
3. Withdrawal: The minimum withdrawal amount was INR 750, currently it is INR 250, it says that in future, there will be a fee charged after 1st December on withdrawal.
4. Rewards: I don't remember this completely as this was a bit complicated, it said that method of getting coins and rewards would be changed, it would depend upon which level we belong to and we would get coins that we could gift to others, if we really liked their blogs.
5. Global: It mentioned something about going global, this means that we would get to read blogs written by people from different countries which is a good thing.
Now, that I have mentioned the changes from what I can remember, it is good that the site has informed us about the upcoming changes, it would have been helpful if they had sent us an email so that we have a record and read and understand these points, instead of a disappearing message.
There is nothing permanent but change, I have been a part of Candlemonk since April 2022, in this short period of time, I have a got followers, views and likes which have helped me to learn.
I would like to thank everyone who has followed, liked, viewed and commented about my blogs, there are some bloggers who have supported me from the beginning such as thulasiram Ravi who was the first to comment on my blog, sheetal thakur who has read all my blogs, lokesh bhandari, Sumit Singh who invited me to join the telegram group, smiling bird, Richa vedpathak, sahu, sapna bhandari, srini 2020, the list goes on.
There are some observations that I have made since I started writing on candlemonk, you are free to express your views, rejections do happen, it is better than my experience with writing on other sites, one is rewarded for reading and writing and there is a sense of belonging regardless of your background.
Once again, I have tried to describe what I have understood about the changes made by the site and I would like to thank everyone who has supported me in the past and will continue encouraging me in future to write about topics that everyone can relate to and for my part, I will read as many blogs as possible, in addition to maintaining my work life balance.
