I am a PHD scholar . I have been one for 2 years now and in that short span of time, I am yet to come across a profession that has been so dramatically changed as the HR sector. The rapid technological advancement in this world has been phenomenal and the way employers go about handling their human resource needs is no exception. With more and more young people interested in jobs related to computer sciences, it becomes all the more important for us to develop our own knowledge about them, lest we get left behind.Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been found to have a significant impact on all the components of Human Capital Management. The manner in which HR is conducted, the way managers interact with each other, the performance appraisal systems followed in companies; these are all factors that have been impacted by this technology. So what is meant by ICT? ICT refers to the means through which information, decision making and communication can be done. This includes computers, telephones, cell phones and of course, the internet! Technological advances have made our lives much easier and also much more connected as well.
In the era of today, the conventional ways of conducting businesses are being challenged.Competition is no longer constraint to local โfirms, but businesses now have to compete continuously at a world-wide level as a latest technology is making the world-smaller (Erixon, 2018). This shows that for an organization to stay updated and maintain a competitive adge, implementation of these new technical advancements is main. HRM revolves around various aspects like recruitment, relations of the employees, training the employees and the growth of the organization (Wall & Wood, 2005). Humans work basis of knowledge and experience gained which each organization must emphasize on. Thatโs why achieving and retaining these sorts of employees by recruitment plays an important role.HR has importance in the organization; the key to success is by the recruitment procedure by which we will obtain the re-sources (Kok & Uhlaner, 2001). Earlier the recruitment procedure was longer, time taking and has a lot of paper-work for the employers, now this has gradually started showing changes in the online recruitment and common nowadays (OโDonovan, 2019). Human Resources are hence changing the out look of the organisations and this is changing the employees expectations from its organisation .A lot is yet to be discovered.
